I love that assignment idea though I would have a hard time with it. #introvert Train rides are some of my favorite things - it's almost like a behind the scenes view of a place. That balcony view in Valencia was so good and I agree - I am originally from a very snowy place but now live in a place with palm trees and warm weather and it feels like I'm always on vacation haha. That whole ending part was amazing!

Wow that must’ve been a change for you? Going from snow to palm trees. Which do you now prefer more? Honestly I thought it would be the most awkward experience to talk to strangers but I loved it so much. Met so many nice people! 😊

@@BecomingaPolyglot It was a pretty big change but I definitely miss the cold haha. My husband and I are definitely cold weather people but I don't mind not driving on snow and ice anymore! That's awesome that it wasn't awkward. I probably still would be supremely awkward. 😂

I can only imagine, driving through snowy landscapes is magical but I can hardly enjoy it as I’m so focused on the car not slipping. It’s great that you get to experience both! Here in holland we have less extreme seasons.

@@BecomingaPolyglot I learned to drive in one of our snowiest months of that year but I still get so focused on not sliding around haha.

Madrid is a better place to speak Spanish than Valencia anyway because in Valencia the primary language is Valencian, which is more or less a Catalan dialect. Also, people in Madrid speak very clear Spanish without much of a dialect, unlike other regions like Andalucía, where people are super hard to understand for a beginner :D

You are right hahaha but I did have very interesting conversations about the various differences between the two dialects. Nevertheless it was indeed easier to understand Spanish in Madrid 😂 so I did most of my research there actually!

Not sure if you'll like this fact. In Spanish the word "vera" means: Orilla de un camino o de un río (Kind of: edge, border, side of a path or river.) If you don't like this fact, delete this comment. 😅

No for real?! That’s amazing, I did not know that at all. How interesting. So you actually use the word Vera in sentences then as well?

@@BecomingaPolyglot I think it's not frequently used, but once in a while you'll find it. Song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWnCpJyLZ82Ues0

@@BecomingaPolyglot According to the RAE diccionary, expressions like: "a la vera" can be used to convey the idea of "near", "close" (al lado próximo).

This is sooo interesting!! I’m going to use this for my Spanish portfolio of things I learned. I am amazed, I did not know this at all. How cool! Always wondered what Vera would’ve ment en if it would mean something in another language. Thank you for sharing I really appreciate it! 😊

@@BecomingaPolyglot In that case, the definition of: "Orilla de un camino or río" I got it from Google translator. Also, check the RAE dictionary because it has more meanings. It's also a plant, according to the dictionary. I didn't know that meaning. 😅😂 See you. Have fun.
