The messages are mixed. In many places they say Renke 2 is the most extreme Via Ferrata of Slovenia. I recently seen many promoting one of the newer Via Ferrata of Slovenia saying that that one is the most extreme.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter. This? Is an amazing Via Ferrata worth climbing. I loved it and I will for sure be back soon.

What is the Ferrata block? I see what it does, I just have never seen one before. I use something similar, but not as simple as the one you are using. Are these for sale?, if so, where do I get one? Thank you. That climb looked pretty intense.

I found the Ferrata Bloc, it seems there's only one company (Austrialpin)and the Skylotec set may not be available today? It looks great, but it only fits on a certain diameter cable, I think 16mm is the max? And, there are sections where the cable is larger. I have a device the will accept up to 19mm , and down to 12mm.

It's called a "Gibbs ascender" USA it fits from 12mm to 19 mm 1/2'-3/4" it has a shell you put over the rope or cable, and a cam that slides one way only, ( unless you squeeze it) @@marioknoll469

Ferrata.Bloc is an aiding (not a safety) piece of equipment manufactured by AustriAlpin. It is intended for a very specific use and it requires serious understanding and training for maximum efficiency. The expected outcome while using it is a) to help you stop for a short break if you need in the middle of a vertical segment and b) in case it happens, to try help you break on a vertical fall.

@marioknoll469 I use a sitting harness from Arc'teryx, a Via Ferrata Set from CAMP (Kinetic Rewind Pro), a helmet from Black Diamond, Ypsilon from Climbing Technology with a K-Classic carabiner from Climbing Technology and the Rewind Wire Lock carabiner from Petzl, the Ferrata.Bloc from AustriAlpin, gloves from Edelrid or Black Diamond.

I find VF routes in climbing areas are always harder than normal as they expect you to have some climbing skills...

@@JetSetYourself Oh boy, Rega just had to send 2 helicopters to rescue a guy from an overhang on an easy VF traverse at Noirague in Switzerland, he forgot to check his climbing harness then it fell down at the crux and he slipped trying to put it back, amazing he didn't die and was able to call Rega before loosing his phone or conciousness

What do you mean by "he forgot to check the harness" and what "he was trying to put it back"? I'm asking because I cannot properly understand what really was the cause. How long did he fell? Is he injured to send helicopters or is just easier to go with a helicopter to deploy help?

@@JetSetYourself Do a search for Rega rescue hanging upside down on rock face but there are few details, it's an easy C grade o/hang, I did it in the middle of a thunderstorm, but it seems for him the belt slipped and instead of carrying on he tried to fix it and then fell, I would assume about 3m so you could easy swing into the rock from there which is hundreds of meters off the ground so also easy to die, he was very lucky and also very stupid

Now it is clear. His sitting harness wasn't properly fixed (tighten) above the hips. At a point, it just slipped down. He tries to pull it back from his down the legs over the ankle back above the hips and hopefully tighten it up. He lost equilibrium and he fell. But, lucky him, the harness holding him by the ankles. So lucky. He ended up upside down a couple of good meters bellow the safety steel cable. Incredible positive outcome.
