FEELS GOOD TO BE HOME! Thank you everyone who joined me for my first premier in a run of many this year! Music will be flowing fast from now till the foreseeable as always here are the lyrics for anyone who wants them I've got dirt on my Reeboks from staying out all night I spent my last ten pounds on this pack of Marlboro Lights I phoned up Stevie, I said "G, you alright?" He said "It's six in the morning, brother! Get some shut-eye!" I feel a sense of well-being this time in the morning Wear my heart out on my hoodie while the city is snoring Drunks falling off the sidewalks, get issued a warning Distant sirens, they crescendo like a symphony calling This it the Britain I know, this is the Britain I love There's poetry inside this city if you listen enough Working class causalities out on the streets sleep rough While a mother with her baby takes her pram to the pub And while she's knocking them down, the cost of living goes up I can't relate to politicians with their head in the mud I resonate with messy Fridays, with the boys smoking bud We do our bit to numb the struggle, as below, so above As as above, so below, here in the city we glow I blow a smoke ring up to heaven and it makes a halo And then the clock strikes seven, guess it's time to head home My companion is the city, so I'm never alone I'm stepping in and out of gaps of the pavement cracks And if I go to sleep now, that's an anti-climax People rise for work and the sun mirrors that A perfect juxtaposition for those out on the lash Bare with me, it's beautiful, I think its irrefutable There's beauty in a contradicting Britain... Indisputable Junkie in a cubicle, that old spoon is usable His mother's in a black suit, crying at a funeral Nine to five crucible, this route is not commutable A kid falls off the tracks and then he serves a stretch in Juvenal Libbies at the Doleys but her dispositions humourful While Davey's at the bookies and his mates call him delusional Britain, drink it down and moan about the weather When the sun starts shining feel the factor 10 tremor Boys will be boys, will be in it together Until the fists start flying like they're Connor McGregor And then he's out... I think he took it too far I think the boy saw red, I think he hit him too hard Now he's face down on the pavement with a face full of tar Mad how small altercations can define who we are That's my cue! I guess it's time to head home It's bittersweet how my high found its way to be low And I've said it once before, as above, so below Living on the streets of Britain you just go with the flow But I'm done, I'm out for the night As the sun paints the pavements, I'll turn out the light White noise on the radio to quiet my mind Always was an over-thinker, just the way I'm designed Britain, drink it down and moan about the weather When it's all said and done we'll be in it altogether Boys will be boys, will be like it forever It's a bittersweet symphony, we're birds of a feather Cause its a bittersweet symphony thats life Trying to make ends meet You're a slave to money then you die...

I would love for this to become a trend, to see more and more independent artists. With all payment platforms out there, independent artists can make enough money for a living and continue to make art. The biggest win in this case is the fact that the artist can really express himself/herself without the limitations imposed by big label contracts.

To the contrary, massive budgets and big labels almost, but not quite, invariably lead to powerless and fleeting music.

Normally I am not really into Hip Hop (I do appreciate the music style), but I love Ren's music. I have also struggled with a very poor mental health since I was a child....I have a rather impactful medical history too; probably not as severe as Ren's medical history, but I do think I understand him.

@@damiansharp693 I wish you all the best, things will get better, it's not easy, but trust that. I get what you're saying about hip hop. Tbh, if it's rap, I prefer the melodic type. It's also interesting when it's fused with instrumental, classical music. Love when different genres meet and there is harmony. 🙂 Also, what (some) rappers do well is that they write very real, raw lyrics, combining them with great rhythm and rhymes. Ren, im from across the pond. Autoimmune illness, recovering addict. All the ways your fans have never found some one like you before. Over here in the southern US with all its fucked up politics and no health care, i showed some of these guys your music, if you could work with them, imagine. Illness across the work, gutter punks and kids just praying to be understood, reaching through music. The underground scene in Nashville TN is waiting for you ren.❤❤❤❤ check out benjamin tod guys!!! They will change the world with music.

This is my absolute fave piece of music from the 90's (I like all genre's of music and I miss the use of big string instruments in music atm) Atm I was 32 and struggling very badly with bipolar disorder and I can't listen to it without tearing up. But you just made it so I can listen to it again because of your wonderful lyrics. Kudos and ❣ from Australia.

daanbrekelmans, I'm glad you like Ren. I think my problem was with the bluntness of your comment. If you'd said "I like Ren, but...", I might not have responded. The thing is that it's all opinion mostly. My favorite guitarist is John Butler. If I say he's the best, that's just my taste. I understand on an intellectual level that Hendrix is great, but I don't personally respond to him. I don't mean that all art is equal, that it's ALL just a matter of taste. It's just that once it reaches a certain level, it's a matter of preference. Just like I know Mozart is great, still I prefer Bach or Mendelssohn. Sorry for the long winded reply

Ren you have made such a big impact on my mums life, she got into your music quite a while back, she has many of your vinyls and she has you merch and things like that, on June the 4th around 3 months ago I think, my mum passed away in her sleep the night before that day, we found out in the morning on that day, it’s been difficult, but I know how much of an impact you have made in her life, with things about the medical industry and things like that, issues, mental issues, your music stuck with her, she really related to your music and loved it, she’s been to hospital many many of times, it’s a thing that she’s ALWAYS despised, being there and the doctors ending up never helping, always lacking, never being able to sort things for her, just continuously putting her on medication, then taking away the medication that she needs, and it’s been very hard for her, even just her going to hospital for her broken hip and that resulted in her being put on morphine which was really scary for us as a family when she was sent home on it, she saw things and she was out of her head, it took ages for it to wear off, like weeks, and it had a very traumatic effect on her, obviously as she stated she was seeing things and she was in a completely different place, but her hospital trips only became a need, she HAD to go, they told her that she had to go, because she had COPD, it got worse overtime and that was the cause of her passing, but her copd only became more severe overtime and it was a really big struggle for her, but as you could imagine, she HATED the hospital but she would still have to go, she was scared, she was really frightened, she called us many times, or my dad mainly, she always wanted us there with her, she thought she was going to pass in hospital and that thought really terrified her, but as you could imagine the hospital couldn’t do anything about her copd, help her, they even had an incident where one of the doctors were planning to leave her oxygen mask on overnight and didn’t turn it off, that would’ve killed her, if it wasn’t for another doctor pointing it out, they were seriously lacking with my mother and it was hard because I really had to watch her slowly fade away with her battle with copd, she sadly passed in her sleep, at home, on June the 4th, but I just wanted to share her story and share how much of an absolute big inspiration your music was for her and how much she could relate to it, she always had it on, she always looked up to it, she loved your music, I wish should could’ve stayed for things longer but she’s been fighting, for a long time, thank you ren, I’ve got all your vinyls now, and your merch, I keep it for her, and I listen to your music now that she introduced me to you, thank you so much for your music, it always made my mum feel like she wasn’t alone, and that she could really relate with your music. Thank you for being such a big part of her life ren❤
