Kylie, is no doubt the definition of the psalm 31 woman. "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Keep up the excellent work bella❤💛💚

"Huge job" is right! It reminded me so much of the things I used to do to spruce up some of the old places I lived in. Nothing was too hard. Whenever I see you young girls on KZbin, working so hard at your endeavors, I hope and pray that your hands will stay healthy so you can continue your wonderful works.

All that space given such a vibrant lease of life, after all those years of neglect and the disaster wreaked by floods,....that massive, back breaking restoration work, done single handed by you Kylie, deserves a big salute. Its going to be a beautiful place.touches of it already evident in the massive urn in the corner, a carved wooden table waiting for the big moment when it will be piled high with seasonal fruit placed on well chosen blue and white crockery, a copper jug along with it and , tall jars of flowers, monogrammed serviettes, a Demijohn here, a wooden chest there and the lovely honey coloured tiles bathed in the liquid golden light of the early hours of day... Kylie your dedication is beyond words, and the transformation that will soon take place will look like a rich, Renaissance painting. Dying to see what it will look like after a rug is added and white colored couches take centre stage. My choice of a carpet would be # 2or 3 to contrast with the terracotta tiles. You will find some lovely pieces at the Global village , Dubai which show cases stunning kelims and rugs from Afghanistan, and Iran, along with great finds from across the globe. Such a joy watching each inspiring video of yours. Thank you.

I designed and built a Tuscan style farmhouse and used handmade Terra Cotta tiles from Spain. I coated them with a cheap coating purchased at Home Depot. It works well and I recoat it every two years. After construction, I had to mop up ten times to get all of the construction dust out of the pores of the Terra Cotta. After the sealer is put on, it’s easy to vacuum and mop. My tiles were stained a medium color already. I love walking on the. With bare feet after mopping. The irregular tiles give your feet a massage.

Terra Cotta floors are indeed porous....very tricky floors....I admire you for wanting to keep the integrity of the room!! How can one not with all the history those floors hold!! when you set your mind to something ...it must be finished...and the excitement of the finally product is like Christmas morning for sure!! I think the floors were Guido approved....I loved how he complimented and recognized your hard work!! It gives meaning when you are appreciated ..part of reaping the rewards when doing a job like that is seeing your husband's reaction and him acknowledging how much hard work you had done!! Good Job Kylie...I cant wait to see it when it dries completely!! Little by Little you and Guido are making this ya'll HOME ...I LOVE IT!!!!! :-)

I love terracotta! Though they can be somewhat difficult to maintain, I have to say, they're also so easy to keep clean. Dust, dirt etc... Doesn't get sticky on them, it stays dry and sweeps up. Modern tile sometimes has a continually sticky, moist feel, and dust smears when swept. Terracotta also has a soft feel, I just live it!!!
@marinadean57063 жыл бұрын
Oh, Kylie, I so resonate with you. I love old, rusted, weathered, and crude things. Their old age gives me a sense of awe, and makes me feel like I'm traveling through time and reaching out to whoever touched the items before. I absolutely adore your salon de pranza! The ceiling!!! The tiles, the pots, the table! I'm so in love! I wouldn't worry too much about a color difference, as the natural, unevenness is part of its Charme. It is definitely on my bucket list to move to Toscana, to see Florence... I could just move into your chicken coop, or the little cottage at the other villa. I don't even want a huge villa with pool. I just want something small and rustic. Something that needs some love. I can even see myself harvesting my own olives or grapes with the sweat of my brows. Anyhow, I'm just rambling on. I love how Guido is keeping his curls. There's just something about well kept long waves or curls on a man (says the Renaissance woman in me). You must forgive me, you two are so near and dear to my heart. I feel like you're family. I just wanna go on and on gushing over you. Baci e abbraci, a presto❤️ P. S. I always love a splash of blue and white, so I would go with rug #6, or #2

I love 2&3. They remind me of the colours of Tuscany-elegant, dreamy & refined. They also look fantastic against the colour of the terra cotta. Rug 6 would be great if you use that dark blue colour in accents through out the room-especially with perhaps some landscape art. If the close up between 1 & 2 is the true colour of number 1... wow what a soft crimson romantic look-nab it for another room!

Rug number 3 is my favorite! I think it will contrast well with the terra cotta and go well together with the with couch, maybe you could add an armchair or two as well, a beautiful rustic and deep coloured "coffe" table in the center, and I love the lamp made with the glass container, just beautiful, ahh and you might add some white candles as well, it will make the space warm, cozy and elegant. and obviously the ceiling is amazing! I am from Germany, but watching your video from Brisbane! My boyfriend and I met in Milano, when we lived there. We both love Italy and speak Italian 😊What a dream to live on a historic italian farm on a hill, with an olive grove, fields and roads lined with cypress trees! 🥰 Much love to you, and thank you, you are amazing! I just found your channel and I am so very glad that I did! I don't usually like lengthy videos, but this was so full of interesting information and beauty. I am thrilled that you embrace the culture, traditions, and the historical beauty and charm of your home. Sad to say, if this had been a vlog of a renovation of an old home here in the U.S., the cotta would probably have been ripped out and some awful vinyl flooring installed. I agree with you Kylie , most of us watching your channel are of like minds.. easy and modern is not in our vocabulary. When I was building our retirement cottage, I knew with out any doubt I wanted butcher block counter tops. So many many people tried to talk me out of it, I knew the amount of care and the process it would take to maintain them. Much like your floor , they have to be oiled once a month or so to keep the wood full of oil to make it more water resistant. And to keep that natural wood tone. But I view it as a labor of love ❤️. My mom used to stay , “ anything of worth is worth the labor you put in it.” The floors look magnificent! And all the rug options were Amazing! But my favorite was 1-2-4 -5 and 6 1-2-4 &6 love them as is design and the color. 5 I like the design but not the color. IMO. I lean towards reds a lot and some blues. But anything you pick will look gorgeous on that floor that you put such hard work into good job. May I add a suggestion.. when you get the coop cottage down and available for rentals, maybe offer a Oil picking package deal. Stay during harvest season, help pick olives get a can of oil from the olives . I would totally go for something like that. 😉

Oh my, I prefer no.1 no. 4 or no 2 in that order. With a white sofa, and an antique paisley throw for it for when you’re having coffee or red wine. With the already rich terracotta red and white scheme of the space it would look marvelous not breaking the harmony of the rooms archetectural strength with arches and textures! I agree about the white sofa, I’ve had several and always had ones with fabric that can be removed and washed in the machine on the whole sofa, usually a strong cotton-linnen blend that can take washing and bleaching and is prewashed fabric before covers are sewn, and it’s incredibly practical. I’ve also had a marvelous Italian sofa that was a deep burgundy woven fabric that was always gorgeous! Many a bottle of red never a stain, dogs and kids and parties, and the covers came off the whole thing, a dry cleaning every two years was enough to make it look like brand new! White sofa, either one of those deep red carpets or a large Turkish of Moroccan Kilim (woven) and a couple of brown leather arm chairs would be my choice for this room. You can bring colorful chords that deviate in with interesting art, a painted sideboard, a lampshade, save those chimes in the composition for last. As someone who loves ceramic tiles (and used to have a ceramic studio of my own) I understand entirely the work and care you put in, wonderful to see! I feel I need to tell you and anyone doing work like this however that you MUST throw any rags and paper, cloths etc soaked with linseed oil in a safe place to burn them immediately! They are a real fire hazard as they tend to self-combust! Superimportante! If you can find natural beeswax and borrow or rent a machine buffer the room will smell marvelous for months and buffing in the wax at high speed will protect the floors for years to come! The same type of machine used for sanding hardwood floors (walk it like a lawnmower) only with buffers that rub that wax into the pores, it’s a piece of cake. I do hope you’ll be allowed to install a fireplace in this space, it’s calling for it loud and clear! Omg I really miss Italy… Lovely vlog as always ❤️👌

That room is spectacular! Those vaulted ceilings are my dream ceilings ❤️. The floors look amazing Kylie! I agree with you about a white or off white sofa……you can never go wrong with them. The rugs are gorgeous. My eyes were drawn to number 5. But in that room anything will look great!! Thanks for sharing 😘

Kylie everything you do is amazing. Your strength, determination to do what it takes to preserve ancient history warms my heart. I feel so connected to all of that & feel as though I have lived in that era. Ricotto floor looks amazing. As for rugs being an Iranian would pick 1, 2 & perhaps 4. Sending you love and light. ❤❤❤

Eeek! Love the rug options. I'm partial to a monochrome look, so #2 could be yummy with a lineny couch and then color in the artwork. But for more of a snuggly feeling 1 works well and more of an elegant feeling 3 is beautiful! Frankly, I don't think you can go wrong. Amazing work, guapa.

I think rug number 6 will make the space look both light and peaceful... in sophisticated, subtle, quietly confident kind of way :-)
