Bathroom looks great! The part of the wall coming apart when you touch it or scrape it, it is due to the cement/sand mixture used. In those times cement was more expensive than sand so sand was used in a higher proportion than it is used today. That and the passage of time and humidity tends to weaken it and it crumbles to the touch. Those of us who own old homes like yours see it all the time. Love your place!
