How exciting! Looks like it was a LOT of work, but well worth it for the piggies. I really love the new beautiful ceiling light fixture! I, personally, would have gone with hard flooring with a large removable rug since sometimes poops/pellets can get tracked and ground into the carpeting, but that's just my opinion (speaking from experience). Can't wait to see the final results, and the piggies will love their new home. 💗

And here I had to make our cage smaller. It isn’t ideal, but we needed to make more space in the lounge room for our couch, and the plan is to do a more permanent set up when moved to the shed (will be our games room) but that won’t be until crossing fingers, next year.

Oh how fabulous, looks like the cage will be so grand... Your stubborn cupboard got me chuckling, they did make things to last back then didn't they... I've had a similar type of thing in this house but it was the old bathroom tiles in my case, they were cemented to the wall with real cement!!! 🙄🙄🙄🥴

The room is absolutely gorgeous!!! Out of curiosity, why do you opt for a raised cage instead of a floor one? Aside from the super cool storage below it, of course. When you said that you'd renovate an entire room for them, my mind instantly jumped to a cage that opens into a free-roam situation, I'm wondering if there's a reason why you didn't want to do that?

I think that would be a great option, but for me I will have the desk and PC for editing our videos and filming equipment etc, and it is easier to manage their daily routine with the cage raised up. The comprise is space, hence going much bigger then their existing cage, but they will still get floor time too 😊
