We are currently renovating our forever home. Just gutted the whole master bedroom and en-suite. Luckily my partner has his own heating and plumbing business but renovating is £££££. Buy everything yourself!! Then get your dad to fit. We got quoted £2,000 for a new bathroom... we bought everything ourself from B&Q and my dad fitted it. Bath, sink, toilet, wall and floor tiles (we kept shower)... Just under £400. FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS!!!!!

Hey girl, with eyeshadows there’s a product called IPA which us makeup artists spray over our powder products so that we can use them on other clients. It gets rid of germs and bacteria xx

Yeah isopropyl alcohol has to be a high percentage of alcohol though so it evaporates and dries and doesn't ruin the product.

Hey Imogen, With regards to lighting, your best option is an even distrubution of downlights. This is create more even lighting. I am an interior designer and the best tip for lighting is having 3 key features. Area lighting - downlights Accent lighting - led strip/downlights in alcoves etc. Task lighting - lamps/wall sconces etc If you have all 3 of these they make the best designed space!

Owning a house in general can be so stressful we had leaks in the attic and then the boiler broke the same week. Had the roofer out twice and it’s now sorted and then we had numerous quotes for the boiler and it turned out we needed a new one. 3 weeks later and it’s all been sorted and I’m back to loving our house again 🥰 it’ll be worth it in the end xx

I would recommend Philips hue bulbs in your lamps, you can change them to any colour and change how bright they are from your phone

We’re in the same position, having bought our first house in December with lots to do! Try and do as much yourself or buy the materials and find someone to fit. That’s helped us massively. Xx

My family have bought land and built and it has been going on since 2014/2015 we are only now nearly finished!! Renovating is a bit easier but very similar - just try and be patient and do things one step at a time so that it doesn't all be come very overwhelming. If you can do anything yourself then do it yourself - we used as minimal other people as we could so my dad has done most of the work and then when we needed external help we paid extra! it will be worth it in the end - also think of ways to make your home more energy efficient - we have used solar panels and have a water tank so we use rain water for toilet flushing etc as this will make your home cheaper to run in the future and you may also be given refunds back for this on your energy bills! don't set dates for things to be done as it will become more frustrating! and lastly you can plan as much as you want but things will change as you go along depending on planning etc! hope this helps and can't wait to see the end home xx

We had a new boiler shortly after we brought our first house. Try to go with someone local not a big company. We was quoted over 9k from British Gas, the independent did it for 3.5k. That was relocating the boiler into the loft and changing from a immersion tank to combi boiler. We have then changed all radiators when we decorate each room, go to selco for these are you can go in without a trade card and they are much cheaper :)

isporyl rubbing alcohol can sanitise powder products without changing the formula. I use that to sanitise when doing peoples make-up.

marble vinyl the kitchen counter and use white contact paper on the cupboard it will make your kitchen look brighter I had a similar kitchen to you and honestly once I finished the vinyl it looked like I payed thousands for a new kitchen when I only payed £30

Imogen you need a nespresso vertuo machine, they’re about £150 and do coffee pods at the perfect temp, you can have espresso, long coffees, short ones in a range of strengths and then get the aerocino which is £50!! I have them and it’s perfect and so quick and no mess, foams almond milk, coconut and oat so well xxxx

We have an industrial style light fixture in our kitchen that allow the whole bulb to be ‘exposed’. Normally kitchen lights are the spotlight sort where only the front of the LED bulb is displayed and the light then goes in the direction the bulb is pointing 😊 either that or highly recommend the spotlights fully fitted flat into the ceilings- whatever sort of vibe you guys would be after!❤️❤️❤️ omg hope that makes sense!🥲 we used a company called ‘Iconic Lights’ for all of our fixtures and lamps 😊

I work for a LPA in the North West. Do not pay 4000 for plans! Also use the Local Authority for the building regs approval not an approved inspector they are so much cheaper and obviously have to be alot more thorough. Get a few quotes for the building regulations drawings before you settle on a price. X

Imo, I think for the lights you should get dimmable lights for the ceiling because if it’s too bright it can give you a mark like a spotlight in your Head, and also for the kitchen to make the lighting even you should get some lights for underneath the drawers in the kitchen and the I had like those gold orange lights and I feel like I would look crazy, but I changed them to white lights and wow!! Your house looks so much like more modern and well it just looks so so so much better, I hope I helped you IMO love you so so much!! And if you didn’t like my ideas that’s okay too aha xxxxx
