My son waited 3 years for an operation at helen joseph. Since January he is waiting at jhb gen for his op. He was put on a prior list then they didn't have space. Scheduled for the 2nd of September then told oh no space maybe in 3 or 4 months time they may have an opening.

I worked IN hospitals for 23yrs it is NOT only the medical staff that is frustrated,but the Administration of the Hospital. if the medical and nursing DO not get the support from this division NOTHING can run efficiently sadly our support systems in the Hospitals are poor, from maintance, to supply chain management to housekeeping these basic services are lacking and often these front line people are arrogant, unhelpful they make patients feel like they OWE them something for coming for health services. In the majority of these hospital there is NO equity every few race groups like Asian Coloued or White in the Administration I DO believe a diversified Administration does hold each other accountable. Just my experience in working for Gov for 36yrs
