【DAY IN THE LIFE】21-year-old University student living alone in the mountains【from Japan】
/ _peotel2wn
She is taking an absence from her university and living just by herself
in a town of Matsunocho in Ehime prefecture, which is 1,000km away from Tokyo.
This town has a population of less than 300 and it is declining,
and there are many empty houses left open.
Wakana rented an empty house for free, and is living while fixing the house
to make her dream house.
🏠Big closet renovated into a bunk bed!
🏠Animals coming in from the cracks of the ceiling!
🏠Old but tough house, built with traditional architecture techniques!
Full of surprises and new findings inside the house!
We are also going to show you the house of Wakana’s neighbor, Hosoba family!
They have renovated 40-year-old house to a dream house with the latest chic facilities!
Luxurious hotel like bathroom, the latest movie screen, innovative kids’ space…and more!
Don’t miss their house!
Let’s find out the culture and lifestyles of Japan today, together with Ken!
Shall we start the room tour🛵

I've been waiting for a new video for a long time: I really like this music, the editing is crazy. Seeing Wakana's progress was really fun, as was seeing the beautiful house completely renovated. We hope that your premier Kishida decides to reopen to tourism, I miss Japan too much!

I would live in a place like that in a second, I'm actually pretty jealous of her house. An old house like that has so much charm and character, even if they need a lot of work. love this 😀

I don't think I've ever seen wooden houses before as they're made of brick (or stone) here in the UK...I applaud Wakana for doing all the renovations at just 21 years old! I certainly couldn't do that when I was 21 years old. I loved the other lady's terrace....what a view!!!!!

Idk what is it about old Japanese houses and their cozy charm, but Wakana is living the dream even if requires a lot of work.

I just love the way they live out there. The views are incredible!!! As long as I had wifi and amazon shipping I couldnt care less how remote that was. Living in the big cities gets tiring. I hope wakana and her neighbors finish getting all those houses renovated and keep that history intact for a long time

This and the earlier video are fascinating. I managed to find the village (of Matsuno, Ehime) on Google Maps and have been doing a little virtual tour of the village. I've found the house and the other house, which I think is the bakery and now also says "Riverside Lodge", which has made the videos much more interesting. I see many traditional-style houses there, at least on the outside. Two especially interesting things about the houses: one, is the designated space inside the front door where you remove your shoes, which is usually lower than the floor. I understand that Japanese apartments also have that feature. The other is the details of the bath, with a drain in the floor (outside of the tub), so you can wash before getting into the tub. I think the Japanese traditionally view the roof as more important than the foundation.

I think its kinda hilarious that the narrator is like this house is 40 years old and this house is 100 years old. Meanwhile people live in renovated houses from the middle age in Germany so it isn’t surprising to see someone living in a 500 year old house. (But that’s mostly outside of the larger cities since most cities got bombed to shreds and those who survived got torn down

@@mhh3 no. That really depends. German architecture is very divers. Depending on the region stone are used more or less. Traditional medieval houses were made out of a wooden structure and the space in between is filled with a mixture out of grasses and and clay. Look up Fachwerkhäuser if you want to see pictures of it
