Since the TDS on rent is normally paid in March every year in lumpsum, the 26QC will show 2 per cent, is it advisable to settle TDS till September at old rate of 5 per cent and from October onwards at 2 per cent. Kindly let me know

This is too much taxation. Firstly the landlord has to pay income-tax. Then property tax. And then pay long term gain tax while selling. Why they have to pay gst. When state collects property tax and center collects income tax. This is double taxation. Rediculaous.

Tax on rental income of flats and commercial premises should be waived off as it's a source of income through which many people pay for school fees, medication, health care and buy necessary food items. Hence government should not try to earn through this type of income. Government has no right to collect tax on rental income on flats and commercial properties as they are already collecting property tax. Citizens should file a PIL against the Government in the Court of law. Whoever are interested can message me. We can then take it forward.
