Several requests here and on other social accounts for the Floyd Mayweather story. Floyd spends a good bit of time in Atlanta and usually travels with a lot of cars and a serious entourage. It is not uncommon to see 4-5 of his exotics parked outside of the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead. Lots of VINwiki posts of them. He came by the dealership a few times and it was always surreal. All of a sudden the parking lot would fill with black Escalades, at least 5 or 6 of them and they would start emptying with his bodyguards, family, friends, etc. He would lead the group in and walk up to me with a very specific request - like a white LP640 Roadster. I would offer something like, "I have a good local client with one that is willing to sell, I can have it here tomorrow." His response would always be, "No, I need it right now, if you don't have it here, we are leaving." To this, I would obviously have to reply, "We don't keep every car in every color, so if those are the terms I am afraid we will have to disappoint you. Of course, if I can have it shipped to your house in the next week, anything is available." Within 30-60 seconds that conversation would conclude and he would head to his next stop. Always quick and surreal but reasonably cordial.

That's absolutely crazy. I frequently go grocery shopping without getting everything I wanted in one trip just due to availability. I can't imagine shopping for super cars with the same attitude. You almost have to wonder if it's just a game to him and that's the only way he actually buys anything...

Yeah, this type of thing happens to me all the time. Instead of famous people with millions of dollars to spend it is usually just trucking company dispatchers that want to spend less because they have a bottom line to deal with and need the most outrageous job ever done on the side of the interstate... in a monsoon at midnight. I did help the band The Misfits fix a tire once. I was a fan of them since they were a part of my older sister's vinyl collection when I was a kid, so that was cool. They where also very cool to deal with. They threw me some signed merchandise out of one of their box trucks and made some very hilarious comments and didn't hold back on ball bustings. I really enjoy your stories Ed. Very glad I stumbled upon this channel as you and your friends are brilliant wordsmiths that brighten my day for a spell. The absurdity is downright glorious.

I went to Motorcars Of Georgia ( the place this guy used to work at) as someone who couldn't afford anything just to look around. The staff where super understanding and nice towards me ( I thought they would turn me away) and let me stay and look and take pictures as long as I wanted. I don't know if the guy in the vid will see this or not but I am very grateful to his old place of employment for letting me look around.
