REO was my savior in life. Blazing your own trails again, playing in my tape deck. and everything else I owned in my 69 Chevy convertible. left Illinois on my way to Colorado. Left home at 18yo. That Hi Infidelity album is ABSOLUTELY phenomenal. It’s the first album that I went to the record store and bought. I was about 13, I think. From this album, you MUST listen to TOUGH GUYS. Gary Richrath’s guitar skills will blow you away. Yeah, Kevin Cronin’s voice is awesome.

Such a brilliant song; reflective of a good man. he's saying he doesn't think it's true, but he's acting like he knows it is. And the message is to her, to end her fling now, because if you leave now, keep going. He won't call her the names he could, and he's diffusing a potentially volatile situation. That's a good man. xo

I have a similar weakness for tight vocal harmonies. REO Speedwagon have those. Styx, Journey, Styx, and Little River Band were from that era and had similar reputations. I also liked how, in the lyrics, the singer is willing to give the girl the benefit of the doubt. He's not being a simp, he knows that the information may not be reliable, but combined with what he's seen of her actions, he's got cause to suspect. And instead of threatening to kill her, he just says, "Keep this up and we're done. Your move." It's a more adult way on dealing with potential cheating.

Saw REO open for Uriah Heep in New Orleans in mid 70s. Gary shredded the guitar as REO stole the show. Gary Richrath is the most underrated guitarist ever. RIP Gary

One of the few groups that I ever truly loathed - yacht rock sung with twangy midwestern accents. If we hadn't had music at the time like Blondie, Ramones, The Cars, etc., I think I would have gone insane and never graduated high school.

Lots of great comments and words of wisdom there, it's always enjoyable. And yeah man is came out in high school when I was really into their earlier stuff and I really kind of hated it although all my friends loved it. Don't get me wrong a lot of dudes left this as well but it's mostly because a lot of girls really loved it. But anyway, now that I'm older and it played music for many years and so forth, I really regard this is high-end stuff yeah. But it is really really good pop. I'm glad you digging it.

This took me right back to the ninth grade. This boy broke my little heart! He led me to believe we were a couple and we exchanged Christmas gifts that my mom spent her hard earned money on because it was so important to me. As soon as he found out I wasn't putting out, he dropped me like a hot potato! Geez, I was in the ninth grade! Of course I was a virgin! He tried for years after high school was over and Huh uh!
