Hey @DimplesDon9, thanks for watching! I will probably still leave the Eufy E340 Floodlight installed until the next generation comes out. I still have the previous Eufy Floodlight cam which has brighter light output, but one has a 1X lens and no 24/7 recording, but I'm assuming you want 24/7 recording right?

@@DemCrumblies do you need homebase 3 for the e340 floodlight to record 24/7 or micro sd card is fine? And what is the advantage of having a homebase 3 in terms of ai tracking ?

@@DimplesDon9 Nope, the new E340 will record 24/7 straight to a microSD card, but I believe the highest capacity is 128 GB that you can insert if I remember correctly. With the HB3, you get additional storage, but I didn't find that it greatly enhanced the AI tracking. It may do that more for older cameras, but when I reviewed the E340, most of my review was initially done without adding it to the HomeBase 3 and the functionality was great straight out of the box. If I could only choose one camera, I'd go with the Reolink Duo 2 camera because it records in 4K and you can get more video playback history, around 5 to 6 days. With the Reolink Duo 3, you can only get around 3 to 4 days since it records in 8K quality, so you kinda need to buy an NVR to get a week of playback history. The eufy system will offer more video playback history since the recording resolution is less and the FPS is capped to 15 FPS, where on the Reolink cameras, it's at 20 FPS. I'd also look into the AOSU Floodlight Cam Pro review I did, it has a brighter floodlight and louder speaker than the E340 and it offers 24/7 recording too for less money, it just doesn't have dual lens like on the E340.

What about the reduced FOV compared to version 2? Also whats your thought about the version 2 with installed floodlight ?

I forgot to cover the reduced vertical FOV, I believe it's 5º lower on the Duo 3, but it still captures enough that it hasn't affected me. On the Duo 2, I was able to catch a good deal of the sky along with my driveway, but with the Duo 3 I still catch my entire driveway but only a bit of the sky. I haven't used the Duo 2 with the optional flashlight attachment to comment, but I had used the Duo 2 with the built-in lights for a bit and it's decent if you'll have your car parked closer to it since you won't be able to illuminate the length of a long driveway without significant light fall off.

So with version 3 you set it much lower. What's your opinion of the version with combined floodlights ?

Yep I had to set it lower. I haven't used the floodlight version, but I would buy it for the deterrent value to bathe my driveway with light. I just have another floodlight cam mounted next to my Reolink which is why I didn't buy the floodlight attachment for it.

Last question is regarding floodlight. I was thinking that if all cameras have floodlights attached, in case you go for a night phone call around the garden you are gonna be like in a theater scene. Can you adjust it somehow ? Disable them for 10 minutes for example

Hey can't really say since I haven't used the floodlight attachment, but you can go in the app to turn it off manually so it isn't always going off. Doesn't seem to have an option to temporarily disable it though.
