My brother this is a dope video. Just found your channel two days ago and been binge watching some of your recent videos. What is your best recommendation for Moving into a new home soon and want to hook it up with cams. Seems like the reolink system you recently installed in the business space coupled with a few of these cameras would be best. Not sure if you would have other considerations??

Thanks for this review. I had 6 of the old style v1 Lumus cameras and had issues with network stability, audio quality and false alerts. I eventually replaced them all with other models. This new v2 Lumus fixes all of that. Such a great camera, and a fantastic upgrade, while still maintaining the small form factor. I am really happy with my new Lumus v2 cameras, but this upgraded version has really flown under the radar. Reolink really hasn't promoted it at all. I found out about it by accident.

Hi, ive been looking for outdoor camera for the best speed notification and event recording. What do you recommend for wired one and wireless one, thanks.

Looks like a decent camera for a Reolink setup. I have 4 ports left on mine. I've been playing with tracking cameras under my car port and have a dual camera one that has a fixed lense and a tracking pod on top. Really nice to keep track of deliveries and anything in the driveway. Has the spotlight option and all that too. Works well with the generic ONVIF POE box I picked up. I'll have to watch for a deal on the Reolink version and I'm sure you've reviewed several. Thanks for the reviews, they are quite helpful 👍

These cameras are awesome. I have 2 and also purchased one for my parent's townhouse. One thing to note you mentioned it was only good for a vertical install. I have mounted one of these on the ceiling in my garage and it works perfectly. I did need to turn the camera upside down but you can then flip the image within the camera settings. I have them monitoring our garage and the front door at home and the driveway/front door at my parents. I feel they are perfect for smaller areas but will stick to Reolink 4K POE cameras for larger/wider areas. I use to have a Google Nest Camera but will never go back. Reolink are half the price, has better quality products and image, and the biggest thing no subscription.

True, you can invert it. Thanks for clarifying.

I've got my V1 mounted to the ceiling too. It's a pretty big oversight by LifeHackster.

The one setting I just found watching this is when you’re under the stream mode you can set the quality to fluent, balanced, or clear. I thought mine was having issues since it seemed like the video was in 640 but nope it was just that setting. Once switched BAM massive difference but of course massive increase in data being used too.

I upgraded my front door Lumus to the 2K version recently and found it more reliable both in detection and connection. Only step backwards is the cable used to have the connection (barrel plug) 2 metres or so away from the camera so could easily make it inside the garage. Now the connection is exposed. I've had to put the cable through some conduit for protection which actually looks better but still would prefer the old version cable.
@raymondggoldstein5 ай бұрын
The total length of the power cable is also a bit shorter than the v1. I just replaced my garage v1 with a new v2 Lumus, mounted in the same spot and the plug just barely reached the outlet.

Wow, it's been awhile since I think we've seen a new Lumis camera. I think most of my reolinks easily detect over 40 feet. I like the overall footprint of this.

What's up brother, I've seen several of your past videos as I'm looking into a solid home security system. I have to catch up on some vids but knowing what you know what would you recommend for a hybrid wifi and wired connecting NVR brand/camera? I believe Eufy has a hybrid system option. Looking for high resolution and excellent night vision abilities, panning a plus, thanks.
@LifeHackster5 ай бұрын
For NVR system, Reolink is my recommendation. Eufy also has different wired and battery options you can choose. Both of these brands doesn't need a subscription.

Bought one based on your review and installed it this weekend. I planned to use it first and foremost as an outdoor motion activated spotlight but I'm struggling to have the spotlight to turn on following not even so distant motion. I have all sensitivity settings to max, yet the spotlight only turns on when a person is literally just below the camera, like 5-10 feet away. Camera is aiming down at the stairs climbing up to my level in an outside rear staircase. Any idea how I could improve things? What is weird is that by looking at the Reolink app I can see the camera detects motion, it then just does not turn on the spotlight unless the person being right below it. Thanks.

Cool review, I would love to see it compared to a Eufy camera, since that’s the brand I invested in.

I hear mixed reviews about the cameras, but I hear the app is terrible. So I wanna know? Should I get this or not? As far as the app, it's got maybe a three point two
@LifeHackster5 ай бұрын
As to the app, Reolink has a learning curve compared to WIFI based camera companies like Ring or Eufy but for an NVR, IP camera plus WIFI camera company, they have the better app compared to Swann, Lorex, Annke or Amcrest.

No matter compatibility. Does it have optional professional monitoring, virtual security guard service or can you use it with third party monitoring service? POE or ethernet option would be nice to prevent wifi jamming.
