Not just attempted-but have done already...we’ve seen the results already-meds being delivered way late, etc.... its to make people think the postal service is unreliable for delivering ballots on time. Everyone mail yours as quickly as possible and keep tabs on it - our county’s board of elections emails voters to let them know their ballots were received and tallied... make sure yours does too!🇺🇸 PS: Thank you to everyone in the postal service - stay strong and hopefully justice will be served-sooner than later!

The Bush/GOP-legislation called the Postal Accountability and "Enhancement" Act of 2006 (quotes mine) requires that the USPS pre-fund pension benefits through 2056. I don't know of any other business or government agency that is required to do this. And none that actually does this, either. It costs the USPS roughly $5.5 billion every year. Without this requirement, the USPS would show an estimated PROFIT of over $600 million annually. As a matter of fact, it did show a profit several times prior to 2006-sources for this information include truthorfiction website, CNBC and others.

The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act threw the USPS into a situation where debt just kept piling up. In addition if forced the USPS to operate 6 days a week which while often helpful for the public leads to greater difficulty in finding employees to work the hours. As a result they have less employees than ideal that are constantly on overtime to maintain a consistent mail service. Sure he has gone at the overtime but removing the thing that continues to let the USPS operate without an alternative is unacceptable. Mail volume continues to decrease which continues to strain the USPS and by crippling it the public will have an even lower chance of using the USPS.
