Thanks to you I just repaired our Bunn but my only regret is that I didn't find you sooner. We disposed of our 1st one. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video, thanks again!

I should get an award for having the oldest Bunn coffeemaker that I'm still using! I bought a white Bunn Pour-O-Matic in 1990, and have have been brewing coffee at least daily ever since. I have had to replace the rubber washers a couple of times because of leaking, but other than that--no problems!

This video saved us $101! Ours is not on warranty anymore and they said we could send ours to them and they will send a new one for $101. Ours had many hairline cracks where you showed the crack on yours. Husband put clear silicone over it and let it dry overnight. I had coffee this morning! Thank You so much for making such an informative video that really WORKS!

Our BTX-B started leaking below the top. Under warranty, so Bunn is replacing for free. After watching this, I took a previous leaking BTX-B that I had retired for parts, cleaned with vinegar, delimed and then sealed under the silicon gasket with silicon sealant. Hasn't leaked for several days. Thanks for the video!

Thank you! You saved me $100. I was afraid I'd have to buy another coffee maker but instead I fixed mine for a mere 59 cents.

Great tip on repair. Whereas yours is partially damaged mine was completely ate up in the whole circle. I was at hardware store and found a food grade silicone grommet for $.50 that filled the entire void. I did have to sand down the top and bottom pretty thin to get the nut back on which took a whole 5 minutes. Once fitted a small amount of Krazy glue was applied to keep it in place....it is non-toxic. This now served as the top and bottom seal gaskets . The stainless washer was reused with the nut. Grommet is good for 400 degrees so should last a while. Thanks again.

Great Video! This is the second time that our Bunn BT-10 leaked. The silicone works for a couple of year. I am a little more adventurous and removed the top of the heating tank. After several year I was surprise to see that there was about 2 cups of lime scale on the bottom. Removed the lime scale and soaked the heating tank and element in vinegar. If you only follow the manufactures instruction of flushing the unit with vinegar, you cannot effectively get all the sediment out of the tank.

I believe this model and others like it, are likely under recall. About 8 years ago, I had one that looked just like this one and Bunn sent me a brand-new model NHBX to replace it, which I still have. Best coffee ever!

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I think mine has a different problem, but it is good to know what you did just in case the time comes that mine takes a dump at that same location!

If you use a rubber washer on top too it fixes it. You screw it down and it forms a perfect funnel covering all the faulty plastic.

This vid is invaluable just for showing how to get that damned top off the coffee maker so you can get to it's innards and clean out the hard water deposits!

Man, I was so glad to see this video!! I easily opened my coffee maker...just like you showed. BUT...when I pulled out the top tub, there was virtually NONE of the plastic "sandwiched between the two washers...it was nearly gone. At this point, I have a hole the size of the washers themselves. I guess I just need a new tub on top. Any suggestions from anyone? ...and thanks for the video!

It's injection modeled plastic. A soldering iron and a plastic zip tie as a welding rod, would fix that is a few minutes.

I just got a Bunn Thermofresh back in early December. Best coffee maker I've ever used! But its nice to have tips like this just in case something should happen. I like the idea of just getting a larger rubber piece rather than using silicon. Thanks so much for the tip. BTW - I noticed a light white-ish residue in that plastic piece... is that the lime they talk about in the manual? Is that easily cleaned? I have yet to take mine apart.

I have had mine apart as well - leaks in the same damn spot! So I JB welded it and used new washers. Held fine for a year or so. Now its leaking again! I read a ton of complaints about the same thing. For such a high dollar unit, you think Bunn would of addressed this issue by now...

@Man from Nantuckett: Great , informative video, thanks! I am having a similar problem with my BUNN GRX-B model except that the leak is coming from the 3 pin/weep holes located on the top-underside of the unit. There are 2 on each side of the main hole where the water normally comes out to the decanter, and 1 in the back near the water tank. Any ideas what might cause the leaking from those areas? Thanks for any info.

Mine leaks from the top at the back of the brewer. There is a small hole that the water is leaking from. i assumed it was an overflow release but now i dont think it is. I drained and started over. And the first pot i poured in to fill just started leaking out again. Is this the fix for this particular leak? Not sure where yours was leaking from.

I have fixed this problem on 2 previous Pour-OMatic brewers (early 90's and early 00's vintage) using a kit obtained at no charge from Bunn customer service each time. I'm guessing they are no longer so willing? The plastic on the later one (Model GR) is now disintegrated too far so I'm hoping Bunn-O-Matic Corp. has improved the design on current offerings before I drop $120+ on a new machine. Does anyone know?
@MrGrumpyashell12 жыл бұрын
Mine had the same problem, but the plastic around the hole was totally gone. I got a fender washer and JB welded it to the bottom to replae the missing plastic. 2 new rubber gaskets, and she should be good for another 9 years. Bunn was no help, as they dont sell parts, because they want you to buy a new machine.

Continued my search for a repair and found that there was a RECALL on the coffee pot. I returned my defective coffee maker to Kohls and paid a minimal difference for a brand new Bunn Coffee Maker. Really hope that they fixed the problem...seems like it could short out and hurt some people. Good luck to you all who are looking for a solution.

Seriously, Does anyone know how to take apart the NHBX model?? Can't tell if it is a rivet or what inside that deep hole (underside by sprayer)--is not a screw.
