what kind of epoxy did you use? Have you done any surface treatment on the patch before glued in? tried to do the same but the adhesion wasn't sufficent and after a few turns the patch fell off.

Hello The patch must be flame treated and cleaned with 100% alcohol cleaning wipes. Makes sure that you do not contaminate the patch with fingergrease or other dirt like skiwax. If you can´t buy a patch that is already treated, try to use a grinder wil coarse grit (worsed case solution). Make sure the board/ski is completely dry, and apply epoxy on the core ánd patch. Squeeze it thight, keep it warm for at least 2 days on room temperature. Also make sure that the patch is on the same height as the rest of your base. If it sticks out, it will get pulled out. Regarding the epoxy, there are various brands and most will likely not be available in your region. Please do NOT use regular epoxy. Your Board/Ski wil heat up, cool down, bend, etc. so regular or fast epoxy wil NOT work . If you can, get Technicoll 8266.. If you liked my reply, feel free to follow us on: instagram.com/waxnboard/

hi, what do you mean by "The patch must be flame treated" ?

Flame treatment creates a change to the UHMW surface, it increases its surface energy allowing epoxy to effectively wet-out the surface and permits a strong adhesive bond. You can ask your supplier to sell you some UHMW that is already flame treated, if it isn’t available you can do this yourself using a propane or butane torch. You’ll expose the surface of your base patch to be coated to a suitable oxidizing flame during a short period of time (less than 1 second).
