I have to admit that I was nervous about doing this but my Fitbit screen was so scratched that I didn’t have much to lose. The result was amazing and the screen looks like it did when my Fitbit was new. This didn’t take all that long and the result was better than I thought it would be. My Fitbit screen had very deep scratches that took substantial sanding. I used rubbing compound after sanding with three different grits of sandpaper. Don’t skip the final step of spraying with the Rustoleum Crystal Clear Enamel. That’s what really made it shine. Once you have restored the screen, be sure to use a screen cover as the clear coat does chip fairly easily.

That is absolutely the most critical step. I have also used the headlight restore epoxy from a Sylvania kit on my other watch with even better results.

I was worried that I screwed something up when my watch was still looking a tad foggy before doing the polishing compound, and I was relieved when everything worked out. I did the whole thing for under $10 which is great and as an added benefit my watch is more responsive to touches and swipes! Looks good as new. Thanks!

Ironically enough, neither did I. I got the idea from the headlight repair kit.

It's a polishing pad like you would use to polish your car. Basically just a really dense sponge.

Literally any rubbing compound you can find at your auto parts store will work.

I tried spraying on the clear coat and it looks like crap. I held it like 16” away and did back and forth motions like it says. How do u do it?
@ClintHolland2 жыл бұрын
That should work just fine. What clear coat did you use and what exactly did it look like when you were finished?

I used the exact same crystal enamel spray & it turned out horrible. What a sham. Can't believe I just ruined my Fitbit for this

Does this method work on plastic parts of the fitbit other than the screen, such as scratches on the sides? Otherwise, thanks for this tips. I have a charge 4 and will try this with the exact grit and other materials/ingredients you recommended.
@ClintHolland2 жыл бұрын
It almost certainly will. It works on most any scratched plastic surface.
@ioanbugheanu68362 жыл бұрын
@@ClintHolland Thanks, I ask because the sides of the Fitbit aren't a see-through screen but a matte surface.
@ClintHolland2 жыл бұрын
@@ioanbugheanu6836 It should work but note that this process will change it from matte to glossy.

Can you do this on a Fitbit versa2?

You can do this on any device with a plastic screen. It just doesn't work on glass screens.

Will this solution work on the Fitbit inspire 2 ?

It will work on any screen made of plastic, which is most of them. Just don't try it on a glass screen.

If I use rustoleom, do I just spray it on or spray and rub it in?
@ClintHolland Жыл бұрын
Rustoleum is fine but don't rub it in. Just spray it on and let it dry.

Does this work on cell phones?
@ClintHolland4 жыл бұрын
It would not work on most as most current cell phones have glass screens and this only works on plastic ones. Some older or cheaper phones that aren't touch screen still use plastic screens however.

Yeah, what a horrible description. Spend less than $10 and have a severely scratched screen look almost brand new. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. A watch repair shop will do the same for you for about $30-$75 with the exact same, almost brand new description.
