Really good thinking. I'm trying to think of why that one rod end was so different and longer. At first I was thinking that it was stretched and the threads rolled over and expanded the end so the previous mechanic ground a bevel so he could take it apart and rethreaded it. I don't think so though. I don't see any way a force like that could be generated there that would cause that. Maybe just found another that was really close to replace the original. Who knows?
