I have a double ocarina with no visible cracks and the notes all sound beautiful except the lower notes will sometimes rattle like a little clicking sound is vibrating and I can't see the cause of it. Have you ever heard or experienced this. The airway is clear, the labium looks fine, but sometimes a little very fast tic-a-tic-a-tic-a-tic-a sound occurs by the way air flow through. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions how it can be mended?

If your ocarina is newly purchased and had sounded like that since you got it, it might be its own individuality. If the sound changed over time, there might be some cause. I don't think it's due to any cracks, because if it has some crack, it would hardly make sounds in the higher notes. I've made some ocarinas that sounded like you said, but of course I never sold them, they probably had a problem with the windway exit.

@@shunartesan Probably right. I think I can learn to work around it adjusting the angle of my breathe flow. Thx.

I’m not able to give you specific advice since I’m not sure how you’re making it, but I think the most important thing in creating the sound is the structure of the windway exit. If you’re checking the sound after making the finger holes, I’d suggest trying to test it before making them.
