You do not, I repeat DO NOT have to disconnect the electrical, water or drain connections - in most properly installed units, there should be enough tubing, hose and electrical wire to simply slide the dishwasher out and do the work! That adds an extra 20-30 minutes.

At the 2:20 mark in the above video it shows removing screws from the top that are in a wooden counter top. I have granite counter tops so there are no screws there. My dishwasher has screws under plastic caps on the right & left side of my dishwasher door frame. Pop off these caps to show the screws that go into the cabinet on either side of your dishwasher. Take out these screws so that you can pull it out your dishwasher to do the necessary work.

if for a squeaking then it is essential to lubricate the new pulley wheels and cords otherwise the squeaking may be worse. Use a good lubricant not petroleum based. I uses a good bicycle silicone based lube. Worked well.

Okay I watched my video... only my dishwasher doesn’t spin. You are lucky.

Two things not addressed in the video. Our dishwasher has three holes for the mounting screw securing the pulleys through the hole in the lower pulley. The choice of holes let you adjust the tension, which was too high on my first choice that seemed to match the angle of the original rollers. I ended up using the holes that create the least tension (the ones furthest to the back). Also, the new cords produced a dreadful noise. After researching the cause, I lubricated the new cords using bar soap. This smoothed out the vibrations in the cords that resonate through the springs. The door is now quiet and well-balanced. Also note, the repair sites fail to tell you that if you have a hitch in your door's operation, it's overwhelmingly likely to be a broken roller and/or damaged cord than a bad hinge or broken spring.

I've replaced the tension cable and it still squeaks. Any ideas?
