Hikoki guns are unreal. Outperform the paslodes easily and only slightly behind the Milwaukee in power but doesn’t weigh anywhere near as much as that hefty unit.
@richiejames928 Жыл бұрын
Worth noting with these hikoki guns… with a certain combination of button presses on the on button and mode selector buttons… they go into ‘service mode’ and won’t fire but flash…. The problem is when the gun doesn’t fire the user presses all the buttons and tries everything and ends up in this mode by accident and it’s another combo of presses to get it out of it….. if you know you know. if your Youl think it’s knackered. hope this helps someone..

6:42 I’d have put in maintenance mode ¹ , pulled trigger 5x (must hold nail catch halfway down gun) to get pin full out, refill air chamber with hitachi regulator adapter w/ a 10 sec count at 110 psi, and turn off, back on, pull and hold mag pin catch halfway down gun and pull trigger ALL AGAINST PIECE OF WOOD and pin will retract and should be good to go. But 9/10 this is symptom of air chamber low in air imo FYI, can search KZbin and web for: how to refill hitachi framing nail gun air chamber to see a video explaining this all, if all needs is air refilling, otherwise the tear down done in this vid was pretty good and shows how easy these guns are able to be maintained and fixed no matter year bought (for most part that is), and if happen to find old pneumatic framing nailer or roofing nailer from hitachi at garage sale etc….buy it and keep it as it’s sought out here in states! ¹ to get gun in maintenance mode. Turn on and press power and fire selection mode at same time and hold for 10 secs, the gun blue lights will start flashing. Then make sure no nails in mag, press and pull mag clip nail holder halfway down and pull trigger against wood 5x till fire pin/spring stays out. You’ll know when here the loudest bang/click. Turn off, unscrew air chamber cover and remove plug and dint lose in tool, air will escape a bit when connect regulator adapter. Follow rest instructions above. If fill and when install plug back in after regulator adapter off and all air leaks out, fill again and if happens again, replace all o-rings and even might need doing if air don’t leak as they can dry out and crack. Unlike pneumatics where can oil them when using, battery nailers don’t need oil so all o-rings and gaskets go years w/ no maintenance (which ok for few years and then I would send into get a good cleaning maintenance checkup done maybe every 3-5 yrs or so depending on use for other battery guns, imo.).

So the story I heard was that when Hitachi sold off Koki power tools(Koki holdings), and Koki changed their power tool line name to Hikoki, Lowe's had a big problem with this and didn't want to sell the tools under that name. Lowe's is Hikoki's only national distributor in North America, and somehow they came up with a compromise of "Metabo hpt." Lowe's used to sell German Metabo power tools in their stores, and still do on their website, so maybe they figured their customers would be more familiar with that name.
@robertrada4783 Жыл бұрын
People who buy tools from Lowes don’t know what Metabo is. Which is a problem when they’re googling the internet for batteries and/or cordless tools. They’re also doing every manufacturer on CAS a major disservice. “Yeah you just go buy some Metabo batteries and you can run our tool with it.” Cut to: customer buys Metabo “HPT” batteries. It’s fucking joke.
@bladeoflucatiel Жыл бұрын
They shouldn't even changed the name in the first place. I didn't even know hitachi and hikoki/metano hpt used the same batteries until a few months ago
@onikwa Жыл бұрын
Fucking Lowe's is such a joke. They have a serious lack of professional power tools and they still try their hardest to push out the ones they do have. Hikoki would be a great Makita replacement for Lowe's but between the stupid name change and the shitty state of Lowe's displays across North America it's hardly picking up any steam. The only companies that put up with Lowe's shit anymore is Stanley black and decker and Flex since chevron has infinite money to waste on Lowe's bullshit.
@histguy101 Жыл бұрын
@@bladeoflucatiel They couldn't keep the Hitachi name, because Hitachi(large media conglomerate) sold Koki(power tool manufacturer). Using "Hikoki" was a great idea, imo, because in most places, the box you got the tool in always said "Hitachi-Koki" on it.
@histguy101 Жыл бұрын
@@robertrada4783 I don't know if the story is true, but that may have been Lowe's perspective. A lot of Lowe's have been dropping Metabo HPT from shelves lately anyway, just like they dropped Metabo years ago, so screw them

Dean, what Bosch impact and drill do you use in these videos? You seem to like them from how much use I see them get!

Hi, hope this helps. Looks like the Bosch is the GSR12V-300FCB22 12V Max EC Brushless Flexiclick 5-In-1 Drill/Driver System (also have 1st Gen the 140fcb22 model….). I actually prefer the 300fcb22 over my Milwaukee m12 installation drill driver b/c the footprint of the Bosch is smaller. The Milwaukee uses the D-handle grip and so I switched over to the Bosch 12v flexiclick to give a go and like it. DeWalt has similar drill driver and tried it, and I prefer this ranking for this type of drill driver: Bosch 12v flexiclick chameleon; Milwaukee m12 installation driver, Festool version, and DeWalt last only b/c grip on small side and feels weird and it feels like lacks power compared to others. Milwaukee’s is even more powerful than Bosch’s but the footprint of Bosch is better imo. So, Festool and Milwaukee use same type grip, and Bosch and DeWalt have same grip. So if in particular ecosystem try checking out that brands driver, but the Bosch is the smallest of all if need that
@AepekАй бұрын
Sorry, he’s using the 18v version of flexiclick chameleon not 12v max, oops. I’ve also tested and in end, went w/ 12v max as footprint smaller and when doing hvacr work and cabinets etc….12v far better for access and not missing out on “that much extra power” 18v model has over 12v. Also, Milwaukee only brand that doesn’t have 18v version and Festool only brand that has option of 12v or 18v in d-handle grip or barrel style grip, where Milwaukee only d-handle grip in 12v tool; sorry about this too much info, do hope helps, and as you can probably tell/see, I’ve tested/reviewed a lot before settling in the Bosch 12v as my edc and when in production I’ve got all out so not having to change heads or bits, just grab the drill driver need for job doing.✌🏻

The regassing be done with something like a 300bar hand pump the same as they use for air rifles. I have two of those pumps from Amazon at £36 each and they work well..IF you have the strength to get it to 300 bar. The max pressure is only about 120psi/8.27bar so even a cycle trackside foot pump can manage that. I suppose the tool uses its own proprietary fitting though just to make life awkward.
@deandohertygreaser10 ай бұрын
Yes it could as long as you have the right fitting
@Biffo126210 ай бұрын
@@deandohertygreaser the valve itself is a normal Schrader valve but it's too deep set to get the normal fitting on it. The screw thread is actually part of the outer casing which means you have to buy their specific adapter. I don't know if a tyre valve extension would even work which I doubt as they haven't left any male thread to attach to but if it did then it's a doddle to regas yourself. I reckon I could knock up an adapter for myself even in a mini lathe but HPA isn't something to mess with if you don't know what you are doing. Fortunately I do as I have trained and worked with high pressure apparatus all my working life.
