How many mandrels do you have for taking out dents?

Did you put some protection on unlackered parts?
@timyllym5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean. When I made the brushed finish on some parts, I protected the shiny parts so they'd keep intact. But when this was finished, I didn't put any lacquer on the trombone. Regular spray lacquer is quite difficult to use and it won't last for many years. Best option would be to use same kind of baked lacquer they use with new horns, but I don't have facilities for that (nor experience).

@@timyllym And how long stays this brushed parts nice, before they get tarnished?
@timyllym5 жыл бұрын
@@denisherman1 I think that the brushed parts stay longer nice looking than the shiny ones. Shiny brass gets tarnished in 1-2 years depending if its kept in a bag or in open air.

what did you use to remove laquer?
@timyllym5 жыл бұрын
I used Nitromors, but it didn't take the lacquer off completely. I had to sand the rest.
