The air temp sensor is a tiny fan that’s draws air in through a small vent and “tastes” it when the air con is set to auto. It then knows what temp to set the cold air blowing out. Top job as always.

Fog lights are from a renault capture which you can use. Look at the Evil GT page they are building a RS focus

Head lamps can be fitted after the bumper. Makes it easier to remove the bumper with the headlamos out aswell.

Those fog light surrounds were originally Mk2 RS specific but became standard for the MK3 onwards - but harder to find in gloss black.

Dean the Fog lights are the same as used on a Renault Capture i believe, made by Valeo 👍🏻 much cheapness for a pair

Evil GT are sorting out another mk2 Focus RS and I'm sure they mentioned the Fog lights being off a Renault Kajar or something like that so might be worth watching their video as it was something like £60 for the Renault one.

That air temp sensor is for the Climate. Same as on many cars it looks like. It has a tiny fan for sampling the interior air. Generally it mounts on the dash in a fake switch with holes where it take the air sample from.

I've never even owned a car! 42 years old and play gran turismo a lot. All my mechanicing is done on mountain bikes. Would love to get into cars but I guess it's all going electric so you're better off learning that now. Love watching Dean and other car youtubers working on their rigs.

Absolutely love the mk2 RS. I had a 2008 ST years ago and it was one of the best cars I'd owned. Lovely to drive, the 5 pot sounds amazing, and they are easy and relatively cheap to tune. Would still own one today if i had the chance. Great work though, looking forward to seeing this finished 👍

The steering wheel wire is a "clock spring". Had to take my Mini's wheel off recently as part of a full dash removal (changing heater fan). Took a count of the turns rather than blocking it - prefer your idea

It just amazes me that vehicle manufacturers don’t have a passenger airbag panel that can be replaced rather than tearing through the dashboard itself! Obviously designed for aesthetics over easy repair/maintenance.

Ultimate Green is definitely the best colour for the mk2 RS. Was going to buy one in 2014, I went for a mk7 Golf R instead. Kind of wish I had went the Focus to be fair. Within a year there was loads of Golf Rs around where I lived.

That thing you didn't know what it was is the internal ambient air temp sensor for the climate control Just clips in by your left knee and there should be a little grille in the lower dash where it lives 👍

I'm back on my 3dr cosworth restoration. What's that black box, code search suggests 80s Toad alarm, you're coming out son. The loom is now about 50% if it's original horrible spiders web. Gota love aftermarket electronics 😅

Hi dean looking for some advice ,my oil cooler failed and I have oil in the coolant system I’ve changed the oil cooler for a new 1 but I can’t get the cooling system clean , I cleaned it several times now ,it looks clear but as soon as I run the car again it just goes like sludge again when I take the cap of any advice would be appreciated

Evil gt did a video the other day with a walk around of there garage. Ben said what the fog light were off aswell but I forget now. Ford wanted crazy money but they are off something else aswell so about £35

The under trays are ST except for the extra bits on the front one. You have the middle one, but there are two more per side (if my memory serves me right). I’m sure someone has reproduced them as Ford don’t sell them separately and with the tray you need to be sitting down before they tell you the price. Good work though, once finished you’ll find out why they are now a cult car.
