Man, that's awesome, thanks so much for recording the whole process and explaining it so nicely.

Ohh this is so cool! I'm currently working on my first retro computer (that is retro at the time I'm working on it, that it) and this video provided me with a lot of insight, since my motherboard is very similar to this one!

at some point you should create a video on how to troubleshoot old motherboards, what to check and where.. could be awesome to learn that skill, it seems like your a pro on these things

Looks like a fun adventure. Switching ones like this can be harder to fix compared to linear type. Worst case with the linear type is just putting in your own solution.

Hello, great work! But where do u connect diagnostic card 2 pin cable???
@scrap_computing6 ай бұрын
This is for the PC speaker. The diagnostic card has a small buzzer on it and the 2-pin white cable simply connects to the buzzer on one end, and to the motherboard's "SPEAKER" header on the other end.

Nice fix. But as a sidenote im curious, why does doom run only with 1400 realtics? My 160mhz 486 with half the cache does that...

Good point! It must be the Cirrus logic graphics card that I used, it is very slow.
