I read some post about it for now they're going to change it. When you're holding the book and pick-up a spacebar item (active item) you don't lose the book and your ability becomes a mix of the items and there should be a ton of synergies (Don't know if these applies to the book in general or just Bethany)

If you do any run requests any more and havent tried this out, I'd recommend you try and beat a run starting out with mother's purse (or whatever the item that lets you hold two trinkets at a time is), hookworm, and ringworm. You could also give yourself tiny planet if you'd like as well. Probably the few runs in tboi I've had that I had been laughing nonstop throughout because of how derpy the build was. I got one of those trinkets during the Head Trauma challenge and couldn't stop laughing.

yeah the light blue book is new. they showed it off and explained it in one of the dev posts. actually they showed off a decent amount of new stuff in those dev posts. not everything in fact in the grand scheme its most likely a small amount but it is enough to maybe talk about and maybe even make a video on. like heres something from one of those posts (which you can read on steam by the way) and you should stop reading now unless you want spoilers (tho its not a new item or a new character but you never know how blind someone wants to go into this.) the keeper is getting reworked. they said that dispite the point of the keeper to be a very challenging run they are tweaking him a bit to hopefully make him more fun to actually play as and that honestly has me really excited and theres alot of even better stuff they talked about and showed off
