If you the viewer are unfamiliar with electrical theory or components STOP! Have a qualified technician do the job!
Note, YOUR home may use fuses in the main electrical panel instead of breakers. The stove fuses (2 of them) MUST be removed before servicing your stove (only if the stove can't be unplugged from the wall). All electricity to the stove MUST be shut off before performing any repairs.

Very helpful instructions. Before arriving here I had trouble finding a panel mount replacement outlet for my GE stove. Thanks to your keyword search tip, I am back in the hunt. Finally, this video is a great example how to work in an organized and tidy way.

Wow! I know this video is 6 yrs old, but that looks to be a fairly new range to have a built in appliance outlet. I guess I didn't realize ranges were still available with this nice feature. I've only seen this on very old ranges, my grandmother many moons ago, had a stove from the mid '60s, I remember it having an outlet like this.

Thank you, very helpful video. One of the most helpful aspects is the proper keyword for searching the thing because that's a bit tricky. An alternative keyword is "Snap-in [convenience] outlet/receptacle"

Thanks a bunch! I'd blown the breakers on both outlets and found them in seconds once you pointed to the bottom edge of the panels. Note to self.... Oven outlets can't handle my air frier!

Always follow electrical code in your area, or get a professional to install if you are not comfortable in doing this.

I had this problem with my stove, the outlet had started to feel loose, and eventually, each time I turned on the microwave plugged into it, it stopped working. The next day I removed the back panel and removed the outlet. On inspection, I couldn't see any signs of burning or loose wires but it was greasy. I undid the screw, the connections are simple spade connectors attached to the wiring, I cleaned them and put it back together and everything works fine.

Have to say I wish every instructional video out there was done by you. Quick to the point, right amount of information, zero useless chit chat or nonsense, and done like a true professional instructional video. I've watched too many 15+ mins videos of Cletus or Jimbob spending more time talking about how dumb they are then showing you what needs to be done without 13 mins of BS. You sir are a true gentleman and earned a sub and a like.

Thanks for the great video - are you able to add an outlet to a stove that doesn't already come with one? I imagine that a fuse would have to be added to this configuration?

Can you please tell me if it is possible to add an outlet to a stove that does not have one.
@mysimplefix
@mysimplefix 10 ай бұрын
Short answer, no it's not possible. The reason is that there must be an existing dedicated fuse/breaker to protect the outlet being installed for safety reasons.

We did just that, since our apartment was wired odd and didn't have enough circuits. The first year it was fine, no problems, just today the damn thing burnt out. So the answer is yes, but proceed with caution.
