thank you for this clear video. I work as a health professional but very interested in maintaining my cars. I just changed oil in my W205 C class and filter, very easy to do. I do need to do the brake fluid too as it is a B service, so this video really helps. I have a vacuum bleeder that sucks the fluid from the bleeder side, but the video shows another good way to perform this operation. Senior Leigh is meticulous in his tools and doing everything right.

yep, bleeding the lines is a cake walk. While you have the wheels off to service the brakes, I would also lubricate the caliper slider pins with silicone grease (every 2 years). My W212 brakes got really hard after less than 3 years with factory lube

great videos, i love them. But aren't you introducing air in the system by pushing fluid?
@LeighSr4 жыл бұрын
Thank you and I pumped the air into the tank to build a 2 bars pressure, the pressure air pushes the fluid into the reservoir, the air won’t be into the system.

Senior Leigh, when you show the bleeding of each brake cylinder, is there any air pressure pushing the old fluid out or does it just come out with gravity? I thought you might have the power bleeder still hooked up with pressure built up
@LeighSr3 жыл бұрын
From 3:00 you could see the power brake bleeder attached to the reservoir and keep 2 bars pressure.

I have a question: After you manually fill the brake resivoir, you use the pump. Are you extracting the brake fluid or ?? I am a little baffled. Thanks
@LeighSr3 жыл бұрын
No need to extracting the fluid after bleeding, because the fluid level won’t change in the reservoir. The pump just added the pressure, the pressure is balanced between reservoir and the pump.
@johnschuldheisz98523 жыл бұрын
@@LeighSr So, after you pour the fluid into the reservoir, you pump more fluid per the pump to add pressure so the fluid comes out when the port is opened at the caliper? No air can get into the line? Just asking a couple of questions. Do like the videos you have and what software do you use for your repairs? Thanks.
@LeighSr3 жыл бұрын
@@johnschuldheisz9852 thank you and as I said the pressure is balanced between reservoir and pump, so the fluid will fill into the reservoir along with bleeding on the calipers.

Hi Senior Leigh, I was wondering how much brake fluid did you use in this video? I am looking to flush out my W204 C300 as I have not done it for quite some time. Would 2L be enough fluid? Thanks!
@LeighSr4 жыл бұрын
The capacity of the brake system is 0.5 liter for w212. I consider the w204 is same. I used 1 liter (bottle) of brake fluid, because bleeding.
@MercedesMechanic4 жыл бұрын
Why do you use a computer as many videos I see for changing the oil, they just use the buttons on steering wheel to reset the maintenance schedule in the dash. Whats the reason for the computer?
@LeighSr4 жыл бұрын
Money Because I can see the maintenance information was recorded into the OBD with Star SD. I m not sure if the information was written in correctly by operating the buttons on the steering wheel. Next time I might use the buttons on the steering wheel and then checking with Star SD to confirm.
