@@bertabuddz4756 oh he was really thorough. I'd just suggest not to clean the wheel hub by hand as it takes really long to get it done. You can get the metal circular brush from autozone or home depot and attach it to your drill.

I use the impact screwdriver all the time and never have trouble with it getting the screws out of the rotors. The torque specs are "Good and tight, plus or minus a jerk". After removing any rust, I still go back and spray break cleaner on the treated areas to remove any rust dust left on the reworked area. It is a great practice.

Not sure about opening reservoir, but you may want to check the level of the reservoir.. If full, it will likely overflow when you push back piston... I use a turkey blaster to remove excess... Honda recommends replacing/flushing brake fluid every 3 years... Is not hard to do but alot easier with a second person

A really good video. Most everything covered and explained very well in easy to understand terms. I wish you had included a mention of brake fluid issues just to reassure those watching. Also, I would have likes more information on the silicon brake grease and a mention of anti-seize grease on the bolts. If nothing else just mentioning fluid and anti-seize eliminates uncertainty. I like the Amazon store feature. The video would have been improved by reference to it for the piston spreader tool (I bought one), the brake grease (I bought a can), and the impact driver (I bought one). Not criticizing, just suggesting. Great job! I subscribed and look forward to other vids.

Brakes. And no. Brakes are bled at manufacturer recommended intervals. Not necessarily at brake/rotor replacement (no air was introduced into the hydraulic system).

Can I put the same from rotor on the back for more breaking power !. I see the from brake is thicker than the rear brake which mean the front has more breaking power than the rear because the rotor is thicker and the pads grabs the totor faster than the rear pads on the rotors.

Hey Jim, can you explain why the rust on the hub causes a pulsating brake pedal? Also, why is it only necessary to remove some of the rust between the bolts, as I noticed you left a lot of the rust close to the bolt, and near the center of the hub? Thanks for posting the video!
@jimp426 жыл бұрын
If the surface under the rotor isn't flat (and rust isn't flat), the the rotor may be at an angle. If it spins at an angle instead of perfectly square, it will be wobbling back and forth between the pads/calipers. That's what causes the pulsing. Overheated rotors that warp end up doing the same thing.

Jim, Great video and I'm glad I bought the impact screwdriver otherwise I never would have been able to get the original rotor screws off after 6 years on the road. I struggled getting the discs off because of corrosion, but used a pry bar to free them up. I have a question though about the pins on the caliper bracket... one of the rear (top) pin was frozen. I'd like to go back and fix this so should I buy a new bracket as well as the pins and boots? Seems like it not worth the trouble trying to remove the pin and if its stuck in there, I would imagine the inside of the bracket is corroded.
