First time owning a push button start vehicle with remote fob. I thought I'd have to go to dealership. Googled how to change battery and went directly to your video. Wow! This helped me a lot! I had the battery replaced at the shop, but the guy that sold it installed the battery upside down. I have called the dealer with questions and they told me to tow the car over to re-program the remote. It cost +/- $150. I decided to youtube it and on this video shows the way the battery should be. I opened the remote fixed the battery and worked!! Thank you so much guys !!

I'm glad I've been able to help so many people with this video. If you would like to say thanks you can help me a lot by using my Amazon affiliate link in the description of the video if you need to purchase the battery for the remote. You can also use the link to do any shopping on Amazon's site and I will get a small amount of money from the purchase, it doesn't cost you anything. I also have an affiliate link to bluehost webhosting in the description, a great place to go if you are looking for a place to host your website. I don't want you to feel obligated, I really am glad that this video has helped so many people, thanks.

These new key fobs work very differently than the older ones. The new key fobs are part of the key less entry system and for this reason the key fobs constantly sends a signal in case the car is nearby. For this reason, the battery inside the fob drains much much faster than the older key fobs such as the one you are talking about.

If you need to start your car and the smart key isn't being detected, you can open your center console, their should be a slot on the passenger side at the front where you can insert the key fob. One important issue to be cautios of. The side of the fob w/the circuit board has the silver button (the one that releases the key) and white plastic stopper on it's top corner. That button assembly has a spring between the silver button and the plastic stopper that holds it in place. When my fob separated the plastic stopper didn't hold in place and the stopper and interior spring fell out. Luckily I felt the parts hit my foot as they went to the floor so I went looking for them and was able to put the button assembly back into place when I reassambled the fob. Just be careful as you open the fob in case your button assembly is loose.
