Replace Hyundai Key Fob Battery
If your smart key(key FOB) for your 2012 Hyundai Sonata has stopped working, then the problem is most likely the battery. It is pretty simple to replace it and I show you step by step in this video. The procedure shown in the video should also work for similar model year Kia vehicles.

Wow! This helped me a lot! I had the battery replaced at the shop, but the guy that sold it installed the battery upside down. I have called the dealer with questions and they told me to tow the car over to re-program the remote. It cost +/- $150. I decided to youtube it and on this video shows the way the battery should be. I opened the remote fixed the battery and worked!! Thank you so much guys !!

First time owning a push button start vehicle with remote fob. I thought I'd have to go to dealership. Googled how to change battery and went directly to your video. Thanks for video, confirms it's straightforward. Your screw driver tip could do with a polish/derust. Also, don't touch both sides of the battery at the same time, moist hands discharge it a bit.

Make sure you pay attention to the battery orientation before removing it! Some manuals show the battery "+" side up when the battery is actually installed "+" down (2014 Elantra GT), as is shown in the video above. (good video, btw)

Screw Driver is Not Required. They designed it so the key fits the slot to twist and open casing.
