Awesome, you saved my hundreds of dollars. I had my backyard sliding door wobbling, a local carpenter could not diagnose the issue 😢. I watched this video and fixed it in 3 minutes 😂😂😂😂, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO

The door in the video has very easy to replace rollers, my rollers have to come in/out from the sides, not the bottom as there is a lip that prevents removal/insertion from the bottom. It seems the whole frame needs to be taken apart just to change the rollers which is risky. My other option is to remove the lip with a Dremel tool so the roller can slide out the bottom, but not sure if that will cause any other problems.

@@redwingdetroit9671 I did the job today and removed the sides of the frame. I oriented it so the side I was removing was facing the ceiling, completed that side then flipped it to do the other. Removing the sides was pretty easy, getting the seal to stay in the right place when I put it back together was challenging, but I got there. I spent a few hours on it because I was hyper careful. The door slides great now, better than new even.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I was fortunate that the rollers were easy to source so I could finish the job the same day, total cost was under $25 and I got the satisfaction of a door that slides great. I'm sure hiring it out would have been several hundred dollars, and they may want replace the whole door for thousands. I have a lot of distrust of so called professionals anymore. The old wisdom of "you better call a professional to make sure the job is done right" seems to be a lot less true than it used to be. Certainly there are honest and competent people doing work on cars and homes, but I've just seen many horror stories from friends an neighbors and it's hard to know who to trust. If I am capable of fixing something, I rather do it if possible. Two examples, a couple of months ago a friend had their A/C condenser and air handler changed out in their attic, a week later while sitting in their living room, the large section of drywall fell to the floor narrowly missing the people sitting there from a slow water leak that did not cause any dripping. Example two, my wife had the airbag light on her dash board come on, she took the car to a mechanic and called me when they said it was going to cost a couple of thousand dollars to fix, I told her to bring the car home. I bought a special OBD2 adapter designed for her brand of car to connect to my PC to see what was going on, cost of the adapter was under $30. After some diagnosing and searching online, I recalibrated the passenger seat weight sensor. That solved the problem and cost nothing, except for the tool. We had no further issues with it, sold the car about 3 years later. I have many examples like this that I either personally experienced or watched someone I know go through.

How do you know what to order? My door has a wooden frame and has no name or number on it. I've lived here 25 years and it was here then. Do I need to take out the door then measure everything? Also there is no access hole to adjust the height.
@DIYwithMichaelBorders28 күн бұрын
@@claytonsimplot9554 Thanks for watching. You can find replacement parts by referring to the manufacturers info sticker located somewhere along the inner frame area. If that doesn’t work, the part number to your rollers should be on the actual rollers themselves.
