Good idea, i have never thought of just looking for a cable like that, easy fix & way cheaper than a new mic.

Yep, I went online to purchase a new mic for $60 then noticed this cable for $27! Great deal!

Wait a minute, was that a metal plate just to add weight to the mic? Really Yaesu? 😆 I question the weight of every mic now. Maybe I just need to remove that weight to lighten the load for my backpacking radio mic. 🤔

LOL, yeah I thought 'odd' but didn't investigate it, I may need to open it again and see if it is just weight, I don't know what else it would be thinking about it now.
