excellent video, gave me some motivation to replace the floor instead of hunting down a used bed
@johnmorneault78887 жыл бұрын
Bill Myers ya definitely cheaper especially if your bedsides are still in good shape. It's not a bad job if your not afraid to get your hands dirty. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi John... Good Video... Could you please tell me where you got the bed floor..?
@badwolfblueberrysmokeadven1636 жыл бұрын
great video, thats the route I'm going just ordered from Ford the bed pan. My 2008 f250 6.4 crew cab short bed cross members were in bad shape. So i got the dorman w/ the cab cross member...we took off the bed and started the remove the cross members and the mounting holes came apart. rest of the box is fine no cancer. Mind you its a two tone DX AND CX. so we thought about a new box...In New England ...hard to come by...junk yard had none and offered me a $4,400 southern bed. Me being from Tx I could get em cheap even from a junk yard ..nooooo rust...I'd still have to pay at least 2k to get it sprayed with 2 tone. Saw your video i was sold. KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS TY
@johnmorneault78886 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Glad the video helped! Ya I'm from CT so I know all about the local rust issues in New England! Lol. Definitely worth spending a bit extra to get the floor to. When I did this one I couldn't even find the Dorman ones.

HELL YEAH I USE TO LIVE IN NEW CANNAN...I HAVE TO DO SOME PATCHES where the THE CAB CROSS members went but good to go ....only thing im having to deal with is weather... its outside. and im a cop and emt so tues and weekends off i miss my baby ...and its gonna rain. i got a 2 car garage but my atv and harley is in there....i should of listen to how long the project was....hella spot welds...im gonna get more bits the hell if i weld inside w/o vent..from Wall ford 900 and he throw in the cab member....its a great two tone bed ...couldnt let it die

@aux1z116 жыл бұрын
My cross braces was rusty but the bed floor was ok, I air scaled what rust I could get off and put some rust converter and rust coat paint and built some new ones right by the old ones with angle iron and painted it all up and every fall it will get the whole thing drenched in fluid film.

Did you keep track of how many hours it took from start to finish? I'm looking for a body shop who could do this for me on my 2011 F250 short box. I haven't priced out the bed floor from Ford yet but an after market place sells it for $590 with the 3 cross members also. Thanks in advance.
@MIRUSTICS Жыл бұрын
I think the F350 I just bought has a bed that's not worth rebuilding after watching your vid. the only reason to save mine would be the exterior bed sides are already painted nice, but the entire bottom and even front brace is toast. seeing the floor is $550 alone it might be less work and aggravation to pick up a non rusted bed for $2k and just lay paint down to match. it's a shame more people don't fix their beds up before they are too far gone for repair.
