Replacing a Ford Tractor 3-Point Lift Cylinder Seal | Ford 1710 | Man About Home

My Ford 1710 tractor's 3-point hitch lift arms pulse up and down a little bit. It's enough to make my finish mower pulse up and down a lot!
In the driver's seat, it feels like a harsh throbbing, and it shakes the operator's bones and backside. It makes it very uncomfortable to drive the tractor. And you know something's very wrong.
I've had to run the mower all the way down on the ground with no hydraulic pressure being used so it doesn't do that. It has wheels. But that's often not the ideal mower height to get the results you want.
It's time to fix it!

If you would have used wd40 or pb blaster it would have gone on there easier.

Thank you for the suggestion. If I get another opportunity to do this repair, I'll give it a try, just to see. But, I think that might make it too slippery to get a firm grip. And every time I decreased pressure to readjust my hand position, it would have slipped back off. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Ford did not build these tractors Japan did for ford and John deere all these little tractors made in Japan good little tractors I got a 1720 set up for mowing yards and garden tractor also have a 1920 and 2120 all 4 wheel drives.

Yep. The diesel engine in this Ford 1710 was manufactured by Shibaura. It's also 4 wheel drive. I've found it to be a great little tractor. But It's marginally powerful enough to drive the 72" finish mower. It works ok. But a little more power would be better. Thanks for watching and commenting!
