Replacing BROKEN hood cable on a volvo s80 2012 without removing from bumper

Here is how you can easily remove hood release cable without removing front bumper on a 2012 volvo s80 T6

How do you remove the cable from the hood latches? I see there is a plastic insert, for each latch, that can be pried out. However, the cable still needs to be removed from the latches.

I am having problem getting the grill off of my 2015 XC70, using butter knife and thin scraper, especially the bottom. How did you take your grill off? My hood won't open, so I have to go through the grill. I broke one of the top clips, and top is lose, but I can't get the bottom clips lose--I am not getting the proper motion; watched a lot of videos--so easy when others do it.

Is it difficult to pull the wire back into the cabin?

it is not, it goes inside a guide so it comes out just inside the handle

@@pkolodziejek: What type of "guide" is it? And where is it? Is it a conduit that is fixed in place already? I am trying to do this on a 2015 XC70--similar layout--a P3 Volvo.
