That's one happy Mama. I bet she's proud of the man her boy Mr. Jeff has become. 'course, to a Mom, we're always still their little boys. ugg. Very cool she has her son around to take care of such things. That'd have cost a pretty penny.

Welcome to MG ownership! My radiator is held in with 4 bolts... 2 of which are metric and 2 imperial and obviously they aren't close enough to each other so I need to use 2 different sockets to pull my rad out! All part of the fun! ;)

My Dad (before I was born) had a MG-TD, then (after I was born), a MG-A. My oldest brother had a New (from factory) '71 or '72 MG-B (we time and distance rallied in it). I learned the finer points of shifting after practicing in a '64 Corvair convertible. Finally I had a '72 MG-B that I had painted from a dark green to a British Racing Green like my brother was. ;-)

adriannp161 they are simple cars, and pretty much every single part you can buy new replacements for. Appreciating in value too, there is a dealer who does the up next to my house, 19 to 25k euros each. Just don’t buy a rubber bumper version.
@adriannp161
@adriannp161 6 жыл бұрын
@@ForeverNeverwhere1 the main issue for me is that I live in Costa Rica, so every replacement part will be on the pricey side. And it doesn't have the rubber bumper those seem awful. Thanks for the advice!

@@HomeBuiltByJeff You can see it around 9:28. It is a red spot about 2/5th from the left and 1/2 way between top and bottom. Maybe it's just a speck of dust on the lens. I thought it might be a focusing laser some cameras have, also.

Home Built By Jeff That’s interesting that it has reverse lights. LHD export cars didn’t have reverse lights till 67, perhaps it’s a very late 66. It looks to be in very good condition for it’s age, conditions must be a lot more favorable in your area than here in Canada. My 66 is presently undergoing a full restoration, including sills, doglegs, lower wings and a horde of other rusted out components. Originally delivered to Germany, it was only licensed for 8 years before being put into a shed in anticipation of a rebuild. 3 owners later, and after 3 failed restoration attempts, it is slowly coming back life now.
@HomeBuiltByJeff
@HomeBuiltByJeff 6 жыл бұрын
A previous owner replaced the engine and for historic registration it had to be completely original so he converted it to look like a 68 to match the engine and then registered it as that. The reverse lights are just cut in, they mount is flat not raised like a true 68. It is different.
@adambetz9748

Home Built By Jeff OK, that explains it then. Must be an Australian thing as here the only concern would be the VIN label, the powertrain wouldn’t have any bearing on a Historical designation.
