Replacing External Voltage Regulator

This is a how to video for testing and replacing an external voltage regulator for a three wire alternator on 1979 Ford Bronco with a 400cubic inch V8. This applies to all older vehicles with an externally regulated alternator.

I'm not familiar with your truck but after a quick search it appears it's integrated into ECU and will need to be wired into the alternator. Here's the forum link I found, I hope this helps. www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/1st-gen-ram-all-topics-93/alternater-help-78691/

I'm not familiar with your vehicle but is the stock alternator internally regulated? If so then the alternator would need to be replaced because it doesn't have an external regulator. This is if you're getting low or high voltage peaks.
