Really helpful video! Those Grohe replacement parts are however too expensive. Thanks for the upload

Grohe is supposed to have a “lifetime warranty” but when I called them about getting a replacement, I found out “lifetime” really applies to the life of a cat.

@@markyeeee replacing the head will be easiest and cheapest route. See if they are willing to replace it for free. They will likely ask you for the receipt

@@markyeeee I would just push and escalate if they require the receipt. It is a gimmick to offer lifetime replacement and expect people to keep (or find) the receipt

I just replaced a Ladylux spray head with a new one (model 46875NDO). I encountered one thing not mentioned in this excellent video. At about 40 seconds into the clip, there is a closeup of the hose, connector and o ring. At the very end of the spiral-wrapped hose, there is a smooth metal sleeve. When I unscrewed my old head, that sleeve slid up the hose about 1/2 inch and stuck there. It appears that if the hose gets twisted (maybe as you are tightening the head) that spiral wrap can begin to unwind which makes its diameter get bigger. And that’s where my sleeve got stuck. I eventually fixed this by spraying a little WD40 on the hose and, with a pliers, pushed the sleeve down to the end of the hose. My first instinct was to try to twist the sleeve along the hose using the spiral wrap like threads. Fortunately, I quickly saw that that move was unwinding the spiral and making things worse. Wouldn’t have been the first project where my “fix” made something unfixable.

Very helpful video! That O ring on the supply hose end that you show at 39 seconds is very important. I just replaced my same model of Grohe pull out spray head and still had a leak. Water spraying back up the hose length where the hose coupled with the new spray head. I looked up the O ring (13.5 caliper) and ordered it separately. As you say, it did not come with the new spray head. The box was a Grohe product package. I hope that the new O ring fixes the problem.
@rogerscubadiver3 жыл бұрын
Removing the old O-Ring is a bit Difficult without destroying it. I was hoping to keep it intact in case the replacement was the wrong size. How did you find the right size?
@kirstijutila94313 жыл бұрын
@@rogerscubadiver I found out about needing the O ring in an Amazon Grohe spray head product review. Then I measured with a caliper device that I had in my craft basket. I will post again after I get the part and install it this weekend.

Sheesh! I replaced the O ring and it still leaks from the hose coupling to the brand new replacement spray head. I hope that others have better luck with their DIY repairs.

@@kirstijutila9431 oh man. That sucks. So it had no effect on cutting down the leak? Not even reduced it a bit?
@kirstijutila94313 жыл бұрын
@@rogerscubadiver Right, no effect. One last theory or two: 1. there could be a crack or leak in the flexible pull down hose right above the metal connector or, 2. the O ring is for Ladyluxe only and not for the Bridgeport circa 2012 (older) faucet model. I replaced the pull down hose about 3 years ago, so will not pay for that again. Happy DIY plumbing, all, and keep trying stuff and learning : )

I’m an older senior my Grohe kitchen faucet with sprayer is only 7.5 years old when it was put in it was brand new the person who put it in was a professional but all kitchen parts I didn’t get receipts only a total bill. The piece you press to turn spray head on & off doesn’t work any longer a spray head alone is $165.00 on line can they be repaired by a plumber? I need that sprayer
@rogerscubadiver Жыл бұрын
I would call Grohe and explain the situation that you no longer have the bill. They are supposed to have “lifetime” warranties so you may be able to get a replacement for free. Just be patient and keep escalating until you get a sympathetic ear
@rogerscubadiver Жыл бұрын
And you don’t need a plumber to replace the sprayer head. They won’t be able to fix it anyways if the push button no longer works (like mine didn’t). They will charge you for a new head and if you can get Grohe to replace it under warranty, you can make the change yourself
