I was mistaking a bracket screw for a hold down screw, hope this resolves my inability to securely mount the module.

The worst part of that job is the position you have to place yourself in to do it..

Absolutely. The long periods of time laying in an awkward position is hard, I actually started getting leg cramps at one point. And the lack of space means having to do most of it by feel and with only one hand. Pulling the drivers seat out is a must IMHO. That allows laying down in the floorboard with feet up on back seat. It’s not comfortable, but it’s better than trying to twist up under there in front of the seat but below the dash. Removing the accelerator pedal is also highly recommended. That gives enough room to scoot up under and turn over to look up at what you are doing, although you still can’t use both hands like that.

Like most of my major automotive undertakings, this one turned into an absolute quagmire by the time I finally found the resolution and made it work. About half of that was because I made some mistakes that just added more work than necessary, and the other half was incorrect or incomplete info about the parts I was dealing with for the car in question. Absent those two mitigating factors, this job wouldn’t have been nearly as bad as it ended up being. I’m thinking I’ll record one more video where I lay out all the ways I went wrong on this one and add it to this playlist. That’s about all the help I can offer anyone that finds this while searching for videos on how to do their own. I really should just rename my channel to “Here’s what NOT to do…” since that seems to be the majority of what others can learn from me 🤓
