Thankyou so much the right side I wasn’t sure if I forgot all screws on the trim around my gauges but turns out you just need to give it a bit of a wiggle like you showed in your video

nice video bro , but can you tell me the name of the metal piece that you used on the speaker to be able to screw the other screw ?

Sorry mate, that piece was on the original speakers. Did you break it? It should be available from Toyota dealers I reckon.

For anyone reading this in the future, some time between 1996 and 2008 they removed the bracket piece and integrated it into the speaker housing itself, meaning on later model steel dash 70s you can't just replace them using the existing bracket. My '96 Troopy has the bracket; my '08 76 does not. I've designed a 3D-printable adapter bracket (designed to work with my Alpine 4" speakers but easily adaptable to other brands) and posted it on Thingiverse; if you need it, find a friend with a printer and print the adapters and enjoy your improved sound.

Sound quality is ok but I'm going to use them as CB extension speakers. Bigger speakers in the door cards for the stereo would be a much better option.

@@downunderprojects9322 thats exactly what i did. Upgraded speakers into doors and used the toyota leftovers to connect uhf speaker, it works a treat!!!

Are they hooked up to your stereo stock? I have replaced my door speakers and two big speakers behind the passenger seat. I want to replace my dash speakers as they don’t work. But I want them hooked up with the rest of my speakers

Thanks for the informative video! I have never seen your channel before but it looks like a gold mine. I’m thinking about getting an early 79 dash, the same as the dash in your 2002, and retrofitting it to my old 75. Do you reckon it’s possible?

Great video on how to replace them, thank you. How would you rate the end result? I just replaced mine with same Jaycar speakers and found the original 10w speakers (93 troopy) had better sound at all frequencies and volumes. Run by a pioneer dehx4850bt mosfet 50x4

Not sure but I reckon they would because it would probably be the same part number for all Troopies in the past 20 odd years. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make one if you had to?
