The fan shroud is very important. Not only does it potentially protect your fingers, it helps direct and force the flow of air through the radiator. Without it, air doesn't have to flow through the radiator, it instead flows to the areas of least resistance. Think of it like a garden hose and a sprinkler. The part of the sprinkler that you screw your hose into is like the fan shroud, without it water/air doesn't flow through the sprinkler/radiator very well. Sure, some water is going through your sprinkler, but you are going to be left with a huge puddle of water underneath. All of that undirected air, can be a huge loss in cooling potential.

I think it is more for safety. The fan is pretty much for helping your engine say cool, when you are not moving.

What did you use on the thermostat. A gasket or that silicone deal? And the 6 o’clock thing. Your 6 or the pickup’s 6?
@tubejim1012 жыл бұрын
Just the gasket on the thermostat. What is the time stamp in the video, where you see/hear 6?

That's crazy, your radiator shroud was gone before you even got this truck?

I have a 95 2.4l manual, im curious if the radiator are exactly the same on a manual and automatic because no one seems to know. Please and thank you!
@tubejim1014 жыл бұрын
On an automatic, you usually have a place to hook up your transmission cooling lines. A manual does not need that, but some times, they just make an automatic transmission radiator, and you just don't worry about the transmission cooling lines. That way, they can just make one radiator for both types of transmissions.

How much coolant is needed to refill? And how many times did you have to check the fluid level?
@tubejim1013 жыл бұрын
9.6 quarts of antifreeze when the truck is equipped with an automatic transmission. When equipped with a manual transmission, 9 quarts is required. 3 Times.

Assuming you have a Toyota. Toyota parts can be tricky. The parts departments seem not as open with information as Honda. I would just call a coupe dealer parts departments, until you find one where they will help you out.
