you completely bypassed what I wanted to see the connecting of the wiring harness, also would have helped if you told what wiring harness fits an 05-09 mustang.

That's why I came here too.I bought a harness that is supposed to connect everything up from crutchfield and it still didn't work properly I had to bypass the harness

Didn't watch the video as the music was a real turn off. So glad my 06 convertible has the Shaker 1000. I bought this car a few months ago but haven't been driving it much and yesterday when I finally tried the radio/cd player I found that the previous owner left the changer full of cds. But the sound...OMG, at half volume I could feel the sound waves blowing over my lower legs.

So...Not actually replacing the Shaker 500 system (powered 8" subwoofer system) but simply replacing the factory head unit, which is not what makes it a Shaker system.

The new mounting brack leaves this big open hole under the radio, which is kind of nice as you know if you drive a mustange theres not alot of storage space so you can put thingsin there but its just this ugly unprofessional open hole. They should have designed a push open cover for it. Also was hoping this video would explain alot of the wiring and conectors but it did help alot. Thanks!

I replaced the head unit, but the aux port inside the console doesn't work. Is there a cord or anything I need to make that connection?

I had a wreck with my 2009 mustang, cars repaired except the shaker 500 that got completely drenched by my iced tea. it doesn't power up at all, but now my batterys draining. could my stereo be pulling voltage? whats an EASY way to cut power to the stereo?

nice video quick question I have a 2008 gt same set up as yours mines doesn't read disks anymore so I went to audio shop they want $250 for install and also said I have to run my own power wire to the deck becuase of the factory amps wont work I don't belive that did you just do plug and play or have to bypass your amps aswell

My 05 I bought has door subs that make no sound, I'm thinking they didn't buy the PAC C2R thing? I want to buy this, but it's pretty damn expensive on crutchfield. Is that what I need to get my 8 inch door subs working again? Thanks!

the two bottom clips on the AC controllers are impossible to get out, i tried and tried and it would not budge.

+dalton post - remove the 3 top wiring harness connectors from the faceplate first. Then pull the bottom of the faceplate forward as much as possible. Then take the harness behind the fan control, just wiggle it out. The grey clip behind the AC control dial is more work. Once you get the fan control harness removed, pull and turn the faceplate to the right so you can more easily access the grey clip, and flip it up. Once flipped up, you can then remove the plug from the faceplate.

You don't explain the connectors. You must have bought the PAC harness. You don't use half of that.

I have an 05 mustang (ironic with my name :p) and the hva/c clip i cant get the grey lever pulled up

+austin maslen - I was able to flip up that grey lever after removing all other connections (3 on top and 1 lower behind the fan control) and pulling the faceplate forward, away from radio, and tilting faceplate to the right. That gave me better access to the grey lever, and flipped right up.

+austin maslen no problem. I just installed Jensen vx7020 and replaced shaker 500 in my 2005 vert. I also put in a rear camera, and got it all working properly. I'm not certain about the subwoofer hookups however, so I may be tinkering with this a bit more. Give yourself a day to work on this - it will take a few hours and don't rush it.
