This is an O ring behind the rear main cover that should be replaced just while you are down there.

What part number is that??
@thronewalker11532 жыл бұрын
@@alland12345 If you are doing this. Make sure you put clutch alignment tool in position. Then, make sure there is even space around clutch pressure plate fingers. If you don’t have even space around the clutch fingers then you will have big problems. You will have to do it over again. If you need any guidance then tell me.

Did you ever figure out what the noise was? Was it because of the disc being on the wrong way? Or was it the bearing not being pressed in far enough?
@MtGarage5 жыл бұрын
It was actually a faulty bearing that was sent with my new clutch kit. It was semi seized, so I've got a new one that's being installed now. Clutch disc was not backwards so I'm hoping the bearing fixes it 🤞

@@MtGarageSo the way you put it in the video is backwards or not? Just want to know cuz doing my clutch and the new one doesn’t say which way to put it in

I’ve been looking but do you remember the torque specs for the pressure plate
@MtGarage5 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't recall, and I don't want to guess either. You should be able to find that spec on the forums. AcuraZine for instance

You should use locktite on the flywheel as pressure plate bolts

How heavy was that transmission? Could I move it around by myself? How about the subframe? Thank you this video is very helpful!
@MtGarage5 жыл бұрын
The trans isn't too heavy, definitely lighter than an auto lol! I had no problems moving it, but definitely needed a jack to raise and lower it, same thing with the subframe
@DKL38254 жыл бұрын
Hope those aren’t TTY bolts, lol I doubt they are with such low torque. But that’d suck putting the fix in backwards. Going to pt 4 now. Thank you.

What service manual did you use

The factory Acura manual. You can find it on forums by searching for Google

The previous person that got the flywheel replaced I honestly don't understand For how much work is involved just to get to the flywheel and clutch I would most definitely be putting some very high quality parts in

Doesn't the new pressure plate come preset so you don't need the special tool? Isn't that what the green and yellow marks on the pressure plate indicate? Great video!
@MtGarage5 жыл бұрын
The center spring is unloaded when new, and as I tightened the pressure plate down the center spring compressed so I don't think it's preloaded. But it worked to cross tighten it slowly so I don't think the special tool is needed!
@HondaSolutions3 жыл бұрын
The pressure plate is not set to the correct setting from LUK. You have to compress the pressure plate springs to get the pressure plate set correctly
@sethquance58313 жыл бұрын
@@HondaSolutions actually, most say that the self adjusting mechanism does come preset unless jostled in transit. As for resetting it, there are a couple videos on KZbin that show how to do it without the tool. What he's doing in this video is actually loading the pressure plate springs, which happens when you tighten it to the engine. As long as you work gradually in a cris cross pattern it won't damage anything

Mt Garage usually the big rear main seal doesn’t leak, it’s the little o ring behind the plate that leak al the time (I work for acura few months and the techs told me that) it’s easier replace the entire plate, the seal already installed only cost like $35 from dealership
