Thank you for this! Do I have to use the strain relief clamps if I have drained the hot tub?

I'm sorry but I don't understand your question

Cool, wish I knew this in January we had a freeze up, new heater plus labor over 1000.00

Sometimes it is very expensive to hire a technician. These heaters are fairly easy to install. Call us if you need help or advice!

@@backyardplus I’ll call if I get in trouble again I’m pretty sure I can handle a heater replacement but have taken steps to prevent another freeze up on my lime light tub Thank you

My replacement heater had red and yellow wires instead of black and white. Does red correspond to black and yellow to where the white one was connected?
@backyardplus2 ай бұрын
That is strange but it does not matter which color wires go into H1 and H2

Once you have white and black heater wires disconnected. Can you perform a continuity test to determine if the heater is bad or good
@backyardplus9 ай бұрын
Yes you can, but the ultimate heater test is an amperage test. Wrap an amp clamp around the black wire of the heater to determine the amperage. Thanks

I noticed when the heater wires were being disconnected the black wire was in slot H2 and the white in H1. When the new heater was installed the tech installed the wires opposite meaning the black was now in H1 and the white in H2. Will that damage or make a difference that those two wires got swapped?
@backyardplus11 ай бұрын
It makes no difference. The black and white can go into either one. Thanks!

@@backyardplus whew. Thanks a bunch for the fast reply. By chance on the Thermistors. On the hi-limit #79005 the plug into the mother board has the red wire pinned on the left and black pinned on the right. The new OEM one is the opposite. Will that scenario be ok as well. Thanks again for you help big time. Your videos are awesome 😎. The thermistor I was referring to is on our Vanguard
@backyardplus11 ай бұрын
@@clydesmithiii2119 Yes, that is totally fine. Just plug the 79005 the correct way. There is a tiny lip on the Thermistors that catches the edge of the port on the motherboard to keep it from becoming disconnected.

Got cha on the lip. I did see that. Again thank a ton on your help 😊

hello, I have a sovereign 2008 export, 1.5 kw heater. Can I exchange for a stronger one?
@backyardplus Жыл бұрын
There is no stronger heater than the 1.5/6kW heater. At 115 volts the heater runs at 1.5kW. But, if you run the tub at 230 volts the heater runs at 6kW.
