I was waiting for the part in the video when you realize that brembo replacement pads for the rear are not an exact fit! It happened to me too. The solution is to knock the inboard pad clips off with a hammer and chisel essentially eliminating any sort of connection point to the brake piston. They will fit this way except occasionally you’ll hear them click into position at low speed: doesn’t hurt anything and they work just fine. If you want to go with brembo brand replacement rear pads for the x308 you don’t have a choice. Other companies make proper rear inboard clips on the pads that fit into the piston. Nicely made video. I enjoy your content and seeing you learn the intricacies of the x308 xjr.

I also had bad luck with my brake rotors when I bought new old stock on Ebay. The seller claimed in the description that it fits X308 XJR. After I got my package and went to my mechanic to replace the rotors, it turned out that their diameter was 305 mm, not 325 mm as it should be. The seller hid this information and sold brake rotors for standard XJ8, refusing to take them back. Brought them down to the cellar and bought 325 mm Brembo rotors instead.

@@LowTechGarage Thanks! Front brakes were in fact quite fine when I bought my XJR in August 2020, but couple of months ago I noticed that the pedal began to shake during braking while driving downhill on the speed over 60 mph. So it was clear that the rotors won't last that long anymore. As I am planning to keep my XJR for many years, I can't afford myself treating the car badly (as vast majority of US owners unfortunately does, lots of Jaguars have been destroyed because of them).

That spring clip comes off so easily but is usually a real pig of a thing to get back on.

You may have some rust on the hub. You can try using a rubber mallet
