The XJR has always been a 10 footer when it comes to its paint. The car showed years of use and neglect throughout its paint. We partnered with Resurrection Auto Detail to do a complete multi step paint correction on the car. In this video we take give an in depth review of the entire transformation process. The end results are breath taking!
Massive thanks to Steve at Resurrection Auto Detail for all his time and effort to bring the XJR back to its former glory!

I’ve just discovered your Chanel and am in the process of going through the full backlog of XJR posts. I don’t own an xjr yet but pretty soon I’ll be looking to buy a keeper. I’m trying to do my due diligence before I make a purchase and I’m finding your Chanel very helpful. Please keep posting any work you do on that beauty to help other people keep there’s on the road.

Looks stunning. Have you needed to do any chrome trim restoration? And if so, what all did you do and what do you recommend to bring all of the trim back to life like new.

I’m surprise he didn’t wash and clay bar before using the cutting compound. Anyway, the result is fabulous.

Hi, I’m looking at a 1998 xjr, clean interior, had a new paint job, 109000 miles, clean carfax, 3 owners. what do you think would be a fair price?

On these cars it really comes down to overall condition and service history. If the car has great service history and is in good condition it will save you thousands in the long run. The best advice is always to buy the best version of the car you can afford. It will save you on the long run. I hope that helps.

@@LowTechGarage thanks. I pulled the trigger. Water pump was replaced. I need to have the tensioner and the guides done. Do I need to replace the timing chain and valve cover gaskets also once I open the engine up? The valve cover gaskets was done by previous owner.

Interesting I actually did auto detailing for 20 years and at my peak I was so good that I became a legend 😂😂😂 true story 🤔. In fact I still can get used to the random orbital polisher’s I’m still old school with my 20 year old dw849 dewalt rotary polisher! This new generation gets scare when I use my polisher time to time 😂… I always say this a man’s tool kid 😅

Good question, the car was cleaned prior to starting the machine work on the paint.

Glad it worked out you but your guy has amateur technique. You want to use the sand paper flat and in an x pattern. Never polish aggressively on the high points like edges and body lines. That wears the pain thin and will go thru eventually. The reason you have the color of the car on the buffer pad is because every process is cutting off material to below the level of the scratches. Color of the vehicle on pad means there's no clear coat. I grew up is a paint shop with show cars. I recommend he does more research since he mostly gets it but there's obvious statements he mentions that show he's guessing on some of your questions.
