One thing Ill like to point out for others is that my 2004 hyundai accent \brio (identical but sold as Brio in south american market) kept the sohc engine from the year before. Keep this in mind when getting the right cover gasket...

Thank you, very helpful video. However i have a question. What is the purpose of waiting for an hour after applying permatex and placing the cover on the engine ? Thank you in advance.

is that the only place you put RTV? I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, I guess the same applies ... I have oil on top of two spark plugs so I might as well change the whole gaskets .. Thanks
@richardlloydusa8 жыл бұрын
On the 2001 with the 1.5 litre engine that is where the RTV is suggested to go. If you have the same engine then I can confirm that it is the same procedure otherwise I can't. Thanks.

Richard Lloyd Just got a question: once the job is done, how long should you wait before starting the engine?
@richardlloydusa8 жыл бұрын
I don't think that there is any need to wait after the initial curing period. If you want to be safe, an hour or two wait should be fine. Thanks.
