Replacing the valves in a cylinder head, Renault Megane 2

Hi Matt, brilliant video, you make it look so easy.. Im about to do a cylinder head gasket on my partners megane 1.6 2008... Im a rusty mechanic at best.

Just removed the air inlet manifold and its full of oil... What's the cause please

@@nickmoore8178 hi , oil in the intake seems to be a normal thing for these engines. It's from crank case pressure. I had to poor the engine oil out of my intake manifold while it was removed from the engine. I gave the cylinder bores a hone while I had the head off the engine and it seems fine now.

Where can I get that tool for removing the spring colletts ?

The markings on the head surface there is that from factory or a "burn in" effect from usage?. Because when you flatten the surface those marks are removed. If its not from factory then it looks like the gasket is burnt into the cylinder head surface or something.

How hard is it to tention the cam belt back on ? I have the 1.9 DCI that im busy rebuilding, head is finished now i just need advise 😅

It should, but it's best if you send the reg for the valve and gasket kit. The valve tool worked although I found it worked better when I put a washer on the top of the valve spring retainer.

They just lift off, after the cam shafts are removed

It may not be running on all cylinders, it needs good compression in all cylinders to work properly. Thanks for watching
