The video is quite informative, just please do make sure to speak a bit more clearly, maybe sticking to a script would help out a lot. Thanks for the tips, can't wait to refurbish my gtx 970!

They are pretty tough, but it always is good to have someone help if it's the first time. The wires usually come unplugged with a few wiggles back and forth! Do you have any local computer shops?

*What thickness of thermal pad did you use?*
@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
On vrm or the chips around the heat sink use 1.5mm, rest 0.5mm thermal pads. I usually recommend buying an assortment, they are cheap and not bad to have some laying around for future jobs!

What is the width/long for VRM and common width/long around GPU?
@computerspecialist8533Ай бұрын
No longer have the card, but width is standard usually around 1/2" x 2" and 1/2" x 3. We have square sheets of pads and cut them to the desired size!

@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
2mm might be a bit too big for the parts that need 0.5mm. If the thermal pads are making good contact with the VRMs and memory it should be OK.

@computerspecialist85332 жыл бұрын
I would think 1.5mm would be the smallest you can go there. You can try the 1mm to see if they squish down a little. I am thinking they will not.

Always good to match up with what your taking off, some revisions of the same card use slightly different pads, heatsinks etc. This is why we recommend a variety pack. On the one we are working on in this video, if you look in the description of the video all the info is there for you.
