Martinez Would be a game changer!! Doesn't hold back Vientos because he can platoon at 3B with Baty, Fill in for Pete at 1B on days off and be a nice pinch hitting power bat off the bench. Wardy Mets lineup would be suffocating for pitchers to deal with. This gets us easily 90+ wins. 25 Hrs 85 Rbis 260 Avg This production would be all we need.

JD would be a great signing but Vientos and Baty both need to share 3B as neither of them is a lock at third. Vientos can also spell Alonzo once per week as can Je Man Choi whom I really like. Baty can also play some LF too.

Sign him yesterday. The biggest mistake in 2021 is going into the season thinking cano, jdd and dom could handle the dh spot and so they cheaped out and didn’t sign schwarber. Baty is pounding everything into the dirt and vientos has too much swing and miss

Yup, they are mutually interested in each other now and now I really think he's going to be the Mets DH of 2024. They've decided they want to go with proven consistency. This will REALLY make that lineup deep Wardy. And if Baty doesn't succeed, Mauricio is coming for his spot and right now I'd rather have Mauricio there at 3B. You can't have spurty inconsistency at your DH spot. It's each at-bat that counts not a big hit here and there. You gotta prove that you are going to be a tough out every time you come up to the plate. They still look like they're still finding their swings in the big leagues, Baty and Vientos that is, and I think that Stearns has changed his mind now together with Cohen and they're proving even more that they want to win this year. And they're showing that they really want some true protection for Pete Alonso. Hey man before I didn't really care, now I'm all for it. Go get Martinez. Their pitching staff knows how to pitch and they know how to put the team in a position to win games. If they don't shut you down, they know how to pitch good enough to keep the team in the games that they pitch and if the Mets have a run scoring lineup, they could definitely be in it to try and win this year.
